crying A very powerful video and song! We CAN make a difference if we try!  good post

I don't use plastic bags anymore...don't need em, don't want them. I'm so used to taking the bottle caps off now, I'm obsessed with it. Anything to help save an animal. The garbage that came out of the birds gut was just hideous. It's hard, I know, to NOT throw away something that will eventually end up in the Ocean, in a belly of an animal but we can try. Think before you throw away something your not sure of. Not preaching, just a heads up.

The first "Name That Prey" of the season!

First thought was goldfinch, but it's too gold to my eyes

Maybe an Oriole?

Oriole is more orange to me...could it be a Canada Warbler?

LOL Joyce, I don't know my birds, just sayin because MAK has them (and a plethora at that), at her feeders.   Wink

Found these pics online. What a great place. A couple CPF enclosures where they keep the raptors. Looks good enough for humans!

Seems silly, but the first thing that enters my mind when I wake up is if that little chick is still alive.  And each day I’ve been rewarded.

I still think it is looking better day by day and it seems to be a little more active in the nest box – that is if KathyQ isn’t hovering over it constantly.  She’s velcro-ed to it I believe!  I am hoping with the warmer temperatures we are expecting that she won’t feel the need to pull the wing veil over it.  I’m not saying we are totally out of the woods yet - I just want you all to keep that in mind.  It definitely is one well fed little falcon.  And by gosh, it is one tough little falcon!  I know it has tons of folks rooting for it.

I will have to admit that this will be one for the books for me in terms of a falcon season.  I have had so many experiences with these birds over the years and there are so many highlights from each year but this one will be seared in my mind forever!

The chick will be banded if it survives but it will be a low-key and hopefully a low stress event.

Lone eyas, the fighter.

crying  Life is full of drama whether it be in nature or humans. We must keep on keeping on as they say. There IS more good than bad we just tend to dwell on the bad more. Try to be positive!  2cents

Good thoughts but that's not me! Can't help the way I am. Sorry!!
