Oh phoo...here I go again... Let's just make sure the ark is seaworthy enough to cross the lake to Toronto! In the overall picture of the building, which ledge is the nestbox on? Thanks again to everyone for all you hard work! Didn't she move to a few ledges? Is she back to the same one? 6th floor?

Hi Janet,Peregrine's certainly are amazing. Peregrine means wanderer. Over the course of 5 years,CPF satellite tracked Peregrines. Some never left the general area they began in,others flew all the way to Columbia and back to Toronto. Most birds of prey wont fly over huge bodies of water,so we couldnt figure out how our Peregrines were sending hits back, from out in the ocean around the gulf area. We later learned they were landing on oil rigs to hopscotch across. Tracking, webcameras and whatever new technologies are to come continuously teach us more and more. Its what makes it all so fascinating. If you and others, have time have a look at CPFs Project Trackem. http://www.peregrine-foundation.ca/trackem.html Did you realize Mark Nash of CPF was in Rochester to help the team attach Quests tracking device? Just one more great connection CPF and the "Rochester gang" have. I remember reading all these trackings a while ago. Nate's story was amazing. What ever happened to him? Thanks Bigfrank, anything you post is with interest!

April 22
Incubation continues on the nest, now 9 days after the first egg was laid by our female.
Her mate, 7Y, has been doing a fantastic job bringing a continual supply of fish for our female. Since the blog post yesterday, 3 fish have been brought by 7Y. The first of the evening came at 6.37pm, followed by a small fish at 8.30pm. This afternoon at 1.35pm another fish was brought which we suspect may have been a perch.
The male also continues to bring nesting material, building the nest even higher around his mate. This behaviour is similar to last year where staff here at Loch of the Lowes grew increasingly amazed and rather amused by the sheer volume of material that 7Y brought to the eyrie at this stage.

Now that made me cry! Tears of happiness! I am so glad that Quest is going into momma-mode. Kendal will catch on quick. Remember Archer when the first egg hatched? He just looked and circled and looked and wondered how his red little egg turned into a squirmy white creature that shouted at him. It's a flood here too Carol and it didn't rain!
