This male spent the entire morning chasing other male intruders all around the yard, intent on driving them off his “patch.� He would not just fly toward them to drive them off, but would pursue them, flying just a few feet behind, until they had flown off into neighboring yards.

Nebraska City, Neb. —

U.S. Fish and Wildlife investigators are looking into the March 6 shooting of about 100 geese at an Otoe County farm pond.

The Otoe County Sheriff's Office reports that it appears a spotlight was used to shoot geese that had taken refuge on the pond near county roads 12 and K southwest of Unadilla.

Chief Deputy Mike Holland said federal investigators will review the evidence and may conduct some follow-up interviews to determine if they will seek a grand jury to pursue an indictment.

Holland said several people have been questioned regarding the incident by Thursday, but no one has been arrested.

He said federal prosecutors are interested in the case because all migratory birds are protected by federal law.

OK, I need to confess, this is one of those times when it stinks to only have the internet connecting (most of) us.  I want to get in my car & drive to Donna's house (I think she's closest to me) and dance & scream in the streets that ARCHER CAME HOME!  The cats are NOT impressed...been hiding under the bed...Chewbacca is not fond of dancing...
