You can see the faces of some Star Wars villains carved into snow banks on a Rochester side street.
Snow sculptures of Darth Vader, Kylo Ren and a Stormtrooper are carved into the banks in front of a home on Granger Place -- located between East Avenue and University Avenue.
We aren't sure who exactly made the sculptures. A user on a Reddit first posted pictures of the sculptures -- describing it as "some evil Mount Rushmore."
Update: We're told the sculptures were made by Rebekah Ford. Great job!

But the eagle may not be out of the woods yet, West said.

Sarvey Wildlife Center treated the bird with fluids, pain medications and cleaned the injured leg, but as of Thursday afternoon, the bird could not move its leg. Sarvey clinic manager Jessica Paolello said the eagle was suffering from necrosis after having her foot trapped for so long without blood flow, and said the prognosis is not good, but not hopeless.

“You never know, circulation could come back,” she said.

If the eagle’s injuries are too severe to heal properly, West said they may have to euthanize her.

“It’s in pretty bad shape in terms of what it’s been through, a very stressful situation,” West said. “At this point, its up to how much damage did the bird do trying to free itself.”

Some injured raptors can be rehabilitated and released, or kept as rescue animals in zoos, depending on how severe their injuries are, West said.

“Our goal is always to try to rehabilitate and release this bird,” she said.

For example, if a raptor breaks its wing and cannot entirely heal, the center will try to place it in a zoo. But in this case, if the eagle’s leg tendons and ligaments are too grievously injured, that may not be an option.

“It has to have a certain quality of life, and having both of its feet is really important,” West said.

It is also a mature eagle which has lived most of its life in the wild, West said. She said the eagle doesn’t know what is happening to it, and has been fearful while they’re treating it. Most injured raptors which live at zoos were rescued when they were young, giving them a chance to acclimate to captivity, she said.

Sarvey Wildlife Center is testing the animal to see the extent of its injuries, and should have more information soon, West said.

“We’re touch and go at this point,” said West.

UPDATE:

Here a couple of images of the eagle that was rescued after being stuck in the tree in Bothell. Today we are continuing to stabilize the bird and the foot is suffering from pressure or compression necrosis.
The trauma of having been trapped and hanging for about 36 hours in the tree, cut of the blood flow to the foot. We are treating with medications to increase blood flow, antiboitics, pain medication, and fluids.
The eagle is not moving the toes on her foot and so for now it is a wait and see. It is criticial that the eagle has use of both feet, so we hope that this will improve.
We are working closely with our vet Dr. Lahner and monitoring closely any signs of improvement. We estimate she is about 3 years old and the next couple of days are critical...

EAGLE UPDATE: WEEK 10
Our adventure with Bald Eagle, Lily, continues. Bird ID #15-3542 was tested again last week and much to our surprise and dismay, his lead toxicity levels had risen again so we have begun yet another round of treatment. The reasons for this are not entirely clear. Typical lead poisoning in wild birds occurs through ingestion - for example, they eat fish that have lead built up in their systems or they scavenge on a deer carcass that may have lead pellets in it from being shot.
For almost two months now we have been feeding Lily food that is 100% NOT contaminated. We do know that Lily was shot and that small fragments of the pellets remain in his leg. Somehow those pellets must have lodged themselves close enough to the open compound bone fracture area that lead is leaching into his system. The pellet fragments are too small to remove, and even if we could, that process would cause even more tissue damage to an already traumatized area of the leg.
The nerve damage to Lily's leg has been very slow to heal. In this new photo you can see that his right leg is still bandaged and that he is not really resting his weight on it. We had considered having him examined by a neurologist, but at this point, we believe a neurologist would only be able to tell us what we already know. Our medical team are reaching out to other wildlife centers to see if we might find a neurosurgeon with considerable wildlife experience who might be able to reconnect some of the damaged nerve bundles without traumatizing the leg any further. It's a long shot.
In the meantime, Lily continues to eat well, and that is encouraging. And he has been moved to a large outdoor flight enclosure where he can fly and move his wings. He also has a companion (seen in this pic)! We have a juvenile bald eagle also here for rehab and they are together in the big aviary.
The investigation into the shooting continues and there is still an $8000 reward offered for info resulting in a conviction in the crime. Any info can be reported anonymously to the US Fish and Wildlife Service at 908-787-1321, ext 311.
That's the update for now. We appreciate all of your support during this long, emotional and expensive process. It's not over yet.

Hi from Arkansas everybody! The first bird to greet me as I left the airport was a beautiful bluebird. Down the road from was my first raptor-my favorite hawk the Red-tail and the next bird was a male Cardinal!

E8 is not doing well and needs a rescue. E7 is pummeling his poor sib.

Today at 5:24pm SWFL
AEF, will rescue this eaglet if given the go ahead from USFWS. They said they will take the eaglet out of the nest and raise it at the AEF. They are precluded by an active nest, until given the go ahead. Let me be clear, they want to do the rescue! But their hands are tied by Federal law. If they are given the go ahead, and enough pressure is applied. Then they will be willing to go into the nest......Phone: 239/561 8144

Mr. President and First Lady  devil  2 eggs in nest now

WASHINGTON (ABC7) — You can view the "Eagle Cam" here.

First, we had the panda cam, now you can spend hours on end watching D.C.'s first ever HD eagle cam. You first saw this story on WJLA.com Monday morning.

This is truly a first in the District's history. Never before have scientists or the public been able to watch nesting bald eagles raise their young so close up and in high definition. The eagles have been named "Mr. President" and "The First Lady". These bald eagles are the first to nest in the U.S. National Arboretum in nearly 70 years.

"It's pretty awesome," said Dan Rauch, a biologist at D.C.'s Department of Energy and Environment. The nest, sits high above Mount Hamilton. It was first settled by the two love birds, last year. When they left this past summer after raising their young, the D.C. Department of Energy and Environment worked with the Arboretum and the American Eagle Foundation to rush to put up solar powered cameras - installed by professional tree climbers.

But this was a gamble. There was no guarantee the raptors would return or raise a family.

"In terms of education, school groups can look at this. They can see the development of these chicks," said Rauch. "In terms of a scientific perspective, this gives us a chance to study a bald eagles' nest in the District without disturbing the birds." "The First Lady" laid her first egg February 10. And her second came on Valentine's Day morning. By mid-March, biologists anticipate the eaglets will hatch and we'll be able to watch them grow up.

"We should have bald eagles. They're our national symbol. They should be breeding in our nation's capital," concluded Rauch.

Bald Eagles have been known to use the same nest for 15 or 20 years. So the eagle cam could become a mainstay.

11am

Margaret Kurtz is up in the air on her way to Atlanta from JFK and then on to Arkansas. Good thing she got out when she did. Tons of delays and cancellations at the airport.

From Sue, MAK's friend

Her flight was delayed: Well that got delayed for an hour. They had to go through deicing twice and then the co-pilot had to actually get out and inspect the wings!

12:15: For all of her friends, Margaret Kurtz has landed in Atlanta. Half way there.
