A Bird
A bird came down the walk, He did not know I saw; He bit an angleworm in halves And ate the fellow, raw. And then he drank a dew From a convenient grass, And then hopped sidewise to the wall To let a beetle pass.
by Emily Dickinson
Very cool! I like it!

She is a creature of habit.
Check spots: Xerox, HSBC, jail communication tower, Frontier communication tower, Times Square, Wilder Bldg, Mercury statue, both side old Changing Scenes Restaurant.
If she's not in any of those spots, and she usually is, widen the search: Kodak Tower, Midtown, B&L, Library, then all the surrounding buildings (corners, ledges, roofs, window sills).
After you've watched for a while, your mind will tell you when something is out of place, like a lump that is either a pigeon, crow, hawk or falcon.
During this whole search, your eyes are to the sky, searching for the stream-lined flight of a very fast bird.

Other Nature Related Information / General Nature Discussion / Reward over shooting of Osprey in Lincolnshire

The RSPB has offered a £1,000 reward for information in connection with the shooting of an Osprey in Lincolnshire.
The young bird, which was tagged in Sweden, was found near a fish farm at Hundon Manor, Caister.
Lincolnshire Police said veterinary tests revealed that it had been shot twice with a shotgun.
Mark Thomas, RSPB investigations officer, said: "The shooting and subsequent death of this bird is sickening."
The Osprey became extinct in Britain between 1916 and 1954 because of illegal persecution.
The bird was one of three chicks hatched from a nest in Spjutholmen, Sweden in June 2010 and during its short life had crossed the North Sea and was well on course to undertake its first migration to Africa.
Wildlife crime officer for Lincolnshire Police, Nigel Lound said: "We know this bird was ringed in Sweden and was only 86 days old.
"These birds are extremely rare and it is terrible that one has been shot in Lincolnshire. We need anyone who has any information to get in touch with us as soon as possible."

WILDLIFE carer Christine Wynne was disgusted to learn more than 50 fairy martin birds were killed during a vicious attack on their nests in Bargara. Ms Wynne is now looking after just four survivors after 83 nests were destroyed. “I hope whoever did this is prosecuted and fined to the maximum,” she said. RSPCA inspector Amanda Yates said the nests were found at the back of a private home yesterday morning. “The man who lived there was quite upset someone had done this,” she said. Ms Yates said she found the nests and the bodies of the dead birds in the rubbish bin – including two still alive. “If you have birds you want removed, you must do it humanely,” she said. Christine Wynne is caring for four fairy martins that survived an attack on more than 80 nests.

I'm so excited I can't wait till Spring ! Somebody go tell Archer Winter is canceled so he will hurry back & get things going w/ Beauty ! Oh how I miss them ! I just wish Miss Stubborn Beauty would go to the nest once in a while, (after all, it is hers)! Archer would be there if he were still around.
