I wish they could change the pool water as often, feels like bath water. Maybe a few bags of ICE.

If you can get a block of ice (5 - 10 lbs, maybe 25) it will help.  Toss that bad boy it the water and watch it melt!

Gee, do they still deliver them big blocks of ice?

No  laugh  Go to the ShopRite and the ice-machine (the larger stores will have the blocks).  Marina always do for keeping the coolers and the fish cold.

98 out right now..pool 88  YIKES....give me a blizzard!

wave   Mayor Dan and I watched from the pedestrian bridge over at the high falls gorge this morning. Much better view without the buildings in the way although a further distance to look which makes it hard to identify. Callidora is easier to ID for this rookie watcher. She's the one running along the edges and wing flapping! Last nite watchers Dana,Lou,Joyce,Brian,Larry,Dan,Cleo(Dan's dog) and myself watched from the corner of Platt St and State St. Kodak right across the street. The veteran watchers are excited to be moving closer to the gorge. Me too except now I have to familiarize myself with another area. No problem with that I have my fellow watchers to show me all the old haunts! heart

Now us veteran (watchers from afar) are pretty familiar with the gorge, Kodak area. I  heart it there. Thanks MAK!  clap

Osprey Diary 6th July
July 6th, 2010 by Osprey Team

Good morning all! As I’m new to The Scottish Wildlife Trust at Loch of The Lowes a brief introduction is called for. I’ll be here for the next six months at the reserve, working on the visitor services side of things, no doubt I’ll be blogging pretty regularly too. Coming from London , Scotland and it’s resident wildlife is all rather new for me, I’m just looking forward to getting stuck in and acquainting myself with our celebrity ospreys.

Onto the update. We’ve had a fairly quiet morning so far with relatively little activity from the Lady, although our youngsters are becoming more boisterous, flapping their wings vigorously and shuffling closer to the edges of the nest in eager anticipation. Having just seen the osprey chicks at Bassenthwaite who appeared slightly dozy and were still taking chunks of fish from under Dad’s talons, I’m impressed by how developed these juveniles are. At 9.40 they were feeding themselves with chunks of pike found in the nest then taking turns to peer inquisitively over the sides of the nest and directly at the camera. No sign of Dad so far and Lady is busy watching the skies for potential danger.

Will update soon,

Charlotte

Way to go Sage and Sage Jr. Great pics. The pic here looks like she's just gonna walk right off the building. Thanks for sharing all your photos with us, looking forward to more. Best of luck to your falcons.

Also, don't forget your backyard birds. Even if you don't have a birdbath, put out a tin or any shallow platter with some water in it. They will appreciate it. I saw too many yesterday panting, looking for a quick drink.  Sad

We are changing the water several times during the day (also keep the bugs from laying eggs in the water).

I wish they could change the pool water as often, feels like bath water. Maybe a few bags of ICE.

Ok, I know that Donna will not agree with this, but even 103 and 104 temps are better than 3 feet of white stuff coming out of the sky!

Kidding aside, today is already an altert day here in the DC region, please remember to keep yourselves hydrated and check on your senior neighbors and parents.  Rich is planning "lite" days all week.  AND remember, when it finally does rain, the roads are going to be nice and oily from the lack of rain.

Be careful out there, please?

Your right....Snow would be great right now. Also, don't forget your backyard birds. Even if you don't have a birdbath, put out a tin or any shallow platter with some water in it. They will appreciate it. I saw too many yesterday panting, looking for a quick drink.  Sad

@ 5:57 am 1 adult plucking away on Powers Building. Mayor Dan thinks it was (A). Callidora on Frontier Comm tower. Then it must have been Beauty on TS NW wing.

Update: 6:43am: Callidora on Dish Frontier Comm tower, Adult on Comm Tower..no sight of other. That's all I know.

I was shocked  when MAK said Powers!! Yes, A up there plucking away. Too bad it wasn't on Cam 4.

Jemison has been eating well on his own and drinking.

So, we have to wait for the results of the XRays tomorrow.  I hope Jemison is ok and will be able to return to his family soon.
