This was great reading Joyce. Love the names and glad they are doing good so far. It has to be so hard trying to keep track of them all. PHEW! Thanks. My sisters daughter Kelly is dating a guy from Syracuse and "YES", he knows all about the falcons there.

Oh boy....any clue as to which one I want? There's quite a few.
Quickest way...double click on your computer clock...opens time & date properties...right hand tab is internet time...check automatically synchronize etc...mine is set to time.nist.gov...update now, OK and that's it. Checks & updates the time once a day. Oh sister Kitty...your da best...it worked. At first, it said an error occured then I clicked it again and *IT'S FIXED*

I'm getting a lot of "Picture Not Found" lately on Main Cam and Cam 1. Is it just me? Started after banding yesterday. ???
For Main Camera, there are a small sprinkling of missing pictures throughout the morning and afternoon, a two 10-minute block of missing pictures at 7:31 PM, and a 7-minute block at 9 PM. I didn't notice any missing pictures for Camera 1. Shaky, every time I go to click NOW on your viewer, I get the PICTURE NOT FOUND. I have to go back 5 minutes on each to get to a pic. Is there something on my new Laptop that is off? This never happened before. My son set the time on my PC to (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada). Not sure this has anything to do with it but it's always 5 minutes off. Right, if your PC is 5 minutes fast, clicking on Now will cause it to attempt to load a picture from 5 minutes in the future, which it will not find. You need to go into your computer's Time and Date control panel and configure it to get its time from a reliable network time server. Once this is done, the computer will always have the correct time, and the Now button will work perfectly. Oh boy....any clue as to which one I want? There's quite a few.

!!! Star in pickle during one of his first flights! June 07, 2010 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre CPF Postmaster Reports:
With a huge thank you to Ernie for his observation report and photos of Star in a difficult situation (on one of his first flights at fledge, close to street level, surrounded by concrete, autos, buses, people and stuck under an overhang, these photos say it all!! Hi Mark: Here are the details:
This bird was spotted at 2:00 pm Monday June 7th. Toronto Downtown Above the loading door at the Four Seasons centre. (NW corner Richmond and York.) Blue band on right leg. Stayed about 1 hr or so and then flew to a lamp post on the NW corner of the street. Then struck the post or something hard and then flew south on York street at about 8 feet off the ground. Cheers Ernie
WE HAVE LIFTOFF June 10, 2010 - Burlington - Lift Bridge Sue McCreadie Reports:
When everyone arrived at the Lift Bridge this morning (around 9:30 am) we were very surprised to find Brant on the cable arm of the bay side of the Burlington Tower. Mom came in and landed on the cables with food and he proceeded to try and reach her by walking along the cables. Mom then took the food to the cable arm and he followed her. That’s where he spent most of the day. Between napping and flapping and preening it was a very long day. All of a sudden around 5:50 pm he took to the air and circled around to the other side of the Burlington Tower. We thought he had gone to the Hydro Towers, but he was nowhere to been seen. After a time of searching Linda Cherriere found him inside a cross beam on the lake side of the Burlington Tower. He had gotten himself into a predicament. He couldn’t figure out how to get out. After a few tense moments and some VERY awkward movements, he managed to get himself from inside the cross beam and onto one of the horizontal beams. Whew, what a relief. When we left at 9:30 pm, he was still there. Mom did a few fly bys and we felt confident that he would be there for the night.
What will tomorrow bring?

I saw this on CPF...
!!! Zanar has been located, and with her new family of four! June 11, 2010 - New York - Prescott-Ogdensburg Bridge CPF Postmaster Reports:
We have just received some great news from Mary Beth down in New York state. She has been closely monitoring the nesting activities of the Ogdensburg bridge peregrines and in addition to finding out that the pair have in fact produced four hatchlings this year, and nesting on the Canadian side,,, she has been able to identify the band number of the resident adult female! I just checked the band number against our records and we have been able to positively identify the identity of the resident adult female as being named “ Zanar”,, produced at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ottawa Ontario on 2004, banded Black 69 over Black K, with a sliver USFW band # 168705686
Zanar was banded at 25 days old, 920 grams – (empty crop weight), June 11th 2004 Thanks You Mary Beth!
Do we know if "Sabrina"/Valiant is still the tiercel there?
How cool....we need to find out more. Thanks Ei.

Hi all, It's a long time since I posted but thought I'd give an update on the peregrines in the North Esk Valley, Scotland. It's an interesting site because between 2007 and 2008 the male peregrine changed, and in 2009 there was a new female. They raised three young all of which fledged. This year has been a very good one, with the same pair on territory and four extremely healthy looking youngsters on the nest ledge. At five weeks they have barely shed their down feathers but already one of them can almost lift off the ledge during practice wing flaps. I've attached a short video link. Apologies for the added great spotted woodpecker and chiffchaff (a kind of European warbler - you will understand why it's so called when you listen!) and I hope you enjoy it. Best viewed in 720p or 1080p resolution. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk8uZ5KRjUgAlso check out the following if you're interested in smaller passerines: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xyyOEJWBmAhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZNstdhsl8oRoslin Glen is a wonderful place to live! Cheers, Neil
