This year we were at Reeds Beach mid-May and were hoping to see the Red Knots arrive, but were a bit early for the big arrival. A couple of years ago we were at Cape May as the Red Knots and the Horseshoe crabs were in full force. It was awesome to watch them fly, land, then take off again! We had a great chat with one of the Red Knot "watchers" at Reeds Beach.
Thank you to Aafke, Donna Ei, and Jeanne for doing the play-by-play on today's banding. Great job, ladies! I expect you'll be contacted by one of the major networks to cover the 2012 Olympics.
I'm waiting by my phone! Your so welcome Shaky, it was great!
People were asking how to donate on Ustream..I sent them to Home page. Hope it helps get some.
I had fun today...hope to do it again next year. Was a little crazy with 4 windows open and going back and forth. We all survived. Thanks Ei, jeanne and aafke for all your help...."What a team"
What a great banding day! I can't help feeling just a bit sad, though, that we never had such sophisticated video and audio coverage of banding (and daily life) for the Mariah and Kaver eyasses. Kapi in VT
