Great day for you guys, nice pics and vids!!!

Our cub is starting to look like a little giant panda! His black markings have come in, and his back saddle looks just like his dad, Tian Tian’s. Keepers have also seen him sleeping with his paw over his eye—which is something both Tian Tian and his big sister Bao Bao do—even though his eyes won’t open until he’s between 6 and 8 weeks old. He’s a whopping 1.9 pounds (881.5 grams) and appears to be doing very well. Mei Xiang has felt comfortable during the last week leaving him on his own in the den several times a day for short periods. She is eating more and even ate one of her favorite food items—a pear—over the weekend

I checked the archives and I don't see a falcon on FCT between 7:30 and 7:45 (the time I was on the bridge), but that doesn't mean it wasn't there.

Falcon food

We have two eggs but expect a third in a day or two. Its lovely to hear them calling at sunset and during the night as we lie in bed, only a few metres away.

He was so close too! Glad they have closure and poor guy probably suffered a bit!! Sad!! 

2 eggs!!

We've already been asked the inevitable question...will there be a cam on the owls this year? Unfortunately, there won't be. The main reason is that Telkom, our ISP, can't cope with normal bandwidth for this area. If we were to put up a cam again, we'd need a huge increase in line speed. Right now, even normal email usage is problematic. If anyone can get fibre cables put into our area, we'd be able to get cams up. But don't be disheartened... we'll post pictures and short video clips as this new season unfolds. Peace
