Failure in Panama City.  3 eggs then 2; 2 chicks then 1; today she stands guard over her last dead chick.  Perhaps the forces of nature can sense the impending oil disaster lurking in the nearby Gulf and chose to spare these little ones future suffering.

Look at that wind...pushed her right in the nest...NO BRAKES!  hurt

We are having really bad winds here also...I have my windows open  and everything that isn't nailed down is blowing around in here. SO..I closed them.  silly

i wonder if someone from that site has contacted Mark Nash from the Canadian Peregrine Foundation??? This whole situation seems really odd

If no one did yet, I sure will. He may have some interesting answers.

There was quite a number of swifts flying around yesterday afternoon. I don't recall seeing them yet this year, but they were around last year, a lot of them seem to nest at the Thomson/Reuters building (Mercury's perch). The restlessness of our pair happened before their arrival, though.

Pretty quiet this morning, probably due to the wind. Those wings on top of the building act as sails and the whole building moves, especially the upper floors. My chair wiggling about takes a bit of getting used to.

Now that's creepy....swaying and chairs wiggling!  surprise

Donna - That's a very well written article!  Where did it come from?  Is Mark Kandel in Avon NY?  Is he connected with the Rochester Pefas as well?

Sage - Wow, so much happening in Buffalo.  Buffalo really needs a local falconwatcher group like we have in Rochester and in Syracuse.  They only have the one nestsite too, which now has 4 chicks.

Love the streaming video - but how do we capture the images we want to save?  Your albums of the images are great to have.
