Even thought is was a couple days ago, she knows where to go to find other birds...a bird sanctuary nearby.
She is a very smart bird! Mate.....She don't need no D*&% Mate! I guess not for this year's nesting...but I'm positive she will find one for next year. Hopefully then the pair will settle down in a nice country-like location. After all, Quest seems to be a rural girl at heart. She's been everywhere and checked out every place...so yes, next season she will know what she wants and where to get it. What a girl! She wanted to see the sites before settling down.

Hey Everyone; I was to the nest site today around 11:00am ? and waited for a handing off. I missed it trying to confirm leg bands off the male. The two of them are really quick about it. I tried to take a picture but the actual camera blocks a clear view of the little ones. Rhea Mae and Tiago have nested in the lower left hand side of the nest box, as they did last year. This makes it difficult to take an actual photo. Altho the image on the webcam is better angle, it is a lot different actually viewing the nest live. The lens has a lot of dust and dirt on it, throwing off a lot glare. I hope to clean it when we band the birds. I could see two chickies... oh so sweet and so teeny tiny.... but cannot confirm a third. But I will take the word and observations of all the eagles eyes watching the webcam. THANKS everyone! If someone has noted a feeding schedule, pls let me know, so I can time it to be there for the next feed. Yay, someone there to keep us informed. Thanks for the observations Wind. Look forward to your next post and maybe some pics. Welcome!

Hi! Glad everyone has gained access again. I sent Cecilia a big thank you from all of us.
If you are not a member, I suggest you become one even if you don't intend to post. Just don't forget your username and password. This way if there is a problem, CMNH can take care of it much quicker.
It is nice to interact with other watchers where our peregrines have taken up residency. So glad Cleveland has a group like this.
Joyce

Dear Donna, Oh my God! That was truly an unexpected encounter! When I saw it, I was like, "I did not just see a live alligator on an ocean floor! I wonder if it was just lost and wandered into the ocean for the day or if it had been in the ocean for a few days, etc. The video pointed out that they can't survive in salt water for prolonged periods of time. Yours truly, John Carlos Hey JC...I guess you can expect the unexpected just about anywhere. Nice to see you on....I miss your witty posts.

From the Moderator:
Immediately after the release of the fourth egg was already obvious that this youngest chick is much less active than his siblings. And unfortunately, he did not make it. Usually, the dead chicken as food for the remaining boy uses. Nothing will be lost. A young stork has about 16 kilograms of food needed 'spring chicken' to fly. So the parents have with 3 young even though all that work very hard to get enough. The question is whether that would work with four children, hopefully continue the remaining healthy boy and there is enough food in the vicinity. Arda van der Lee
So they have now...3 healthy baby storks.

WASHINGTON—Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says authorities are recovering evidence from the car bomb discovered at New York's Time Square.
She tells NBC'S "Meet the Press" that officials are treating the incident as a potential terrorist attack. She says it's too soon to tell who's responsible.
Napolitano says that while investigators have no suspects, they have recovered forensic evidence, including fingerprints from the vehicle.
She also says there are a number of surveillance cameras in the area and they could yield valuable videotape.

Annette, that was an awful scare. If that bomb had detinated as planned...it would have killed thousands they said. Just the car shrapnel alone would be devastating. I don't know about the TS NY falcons and where they are located but I'm sure it would have done something. HORRIBLE PEOPLE to do this. I hope they catch the ones who did this.
