Checking to make sure the old homestead didn't burn down from last nights fireworks!  

So good to see her here..don't want them to switch and move to Powers.  Wasn't that supposed to come down last or this year..thought there was some talk of it? If not, maybe it's about time to take it down after this season so they don't get any ideas.

Both juvies put on a spectacular flying show with stoops, talon tagging and a game of chase dad around the tower! Then Gleig came in with a pigeon and one of the juvies grabbed onto it in mid-air but mom wouldn't let go. They got lower and lower until mom finally let go about 15 feet over our head! (Michelle)

News10NBC has learned a Rochester man has been rescued from a capsized ferry in the Philippines and we’re told he saved several lives.

Officials say 48-year-old Lawrence Drake, a retired firefighter and EMT, was able to revive a woman while he was in the water. We're told he also saved an eight-year-old boy and a pregnant woman. Officials say he was on the ferry with his wife who is from the Philippines. She survived as well.

Investigators say huge waves caused the ferry to capsize this morning. Thirty-six people were killed.
 

Skye Has Mishap and is Brought to Rehabilitator

Sometime last night in the early evening – probably between 6:00 and 7:00 PM, Skye, the 2nd of this year’s Peregrine chicks to fledge, met with an accident. He was found standing in the parking lot of the State Office Building with his wing drooping. After capture he was brought to a local Wildlife Rehabilitator. A cursory examination revealed nothing obviously wrong with his wing, but he awaits x-rays and a more thorough examination. At this point we are hopeful that he will be able to be released back into the Downtown territory, but only time will tell. Though official Fledge Watch had ended only the day before, there were observers on the scene, but none of them saw the incident that brought Skye down.

How awful for them all!! What's going on there? Never heard of all fledges in trouble before!! This is very sad to read!
