The Eurasian Kestrel webcam: It's a part of "Beleef de lente" what means "enjoy Spring" Well it's the same story like last year First the pigeons came in the nestbox, the female laid 2 eggs and was brooding for a few days. Than the jackdaws came, they chased away the pigeons and destroyed the eggs. The jackdaws were busy with taking out branches of the nestbox. Now the jackdaws weren't seen for 2 days. Yesterday the Kestrel came. Who knows who will be next?

!!! First Egg at Toronto Sheraton Centre Hotel March 23, 2010 - Toronto - Sheraton Centre Linda Woods Reports:
Many thanks to the Folks of Rochester Falcon Forum for the quick email this morning. They were happy to report that in the wee hours of the morning, Rhea Mae put down her first egg of the 2010 nesting season.
I had been watching the webcam last evening and Rhea had been spending many nights sitting at the nest ledge. But last night she was on the nest tray. After dark she climbed into the tray and layed down. This morning, egg # 1!
Many thanks to everyone who emailed me and gave me the heads up.

!!! Niagara Falls Peregrines are on territory and appear to be nesting on the Canadian side again this year! March 20, 2010 - CPF Postmaster Reports:
With a huge thank you from Connie from the New York State Department of Conservation and one of her dedicated observers (John), we have received some great news about the Niagara peregrines. Connie has just received news from her watchers that there is definitely peregrine nesting activity at the old Ontario Hydro generation plant on the Canadian side of the gorge. The observation reports sent into Connie and later forwarded to the CPF reads:
“I just wanted to drop you an e-mail about today’s sighting. I saw the female peregrine in the old scrap site at the old Canadian power plant. She sat at the edge of the box for quite some time and later went inside and seemed to lay down or something and then flew off. The male was also seen on top of the power plant. Both birds were seen flying high above the buildings together getting real close at times. I’m getting a new camera body this week so ill be looking for these birds a bit more this year, I always manage something interesting with these birds”. John
Fingers crossed that the pair will be successful in producing a new clutch of hatchlings again this year. Stay tuned………

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Noah, the baby eaglet at Carolina Raptor Center, is getting bigger and stronger and Saturday, March 27 it will learn how to survive on its own.
Noah will be taken to a hack tower at an undisclosed location to learn to fly, hunt and survive in the wild.
A hack tower is a wooden elevated structure where Noah will live for about six weeks. The doors to the hack tower will be closed at first and eventually opened so Noah can fly in and out.
Before Noah is released into the wild it will be outfitted with a tracking device that pings off of cell phones so Carolina Raptor Center staff can keep track of the eagle.
Noah is named in honor of Lance Cpl. Noah Pier, 25, who was killed in combat Feb. 16 in southern Afghanistan.
The eaglet hatched Feb. 12, 2010.

3/23/2010 :: Second Egg! Early this morning, March 23rd, the female Peregrine Falcon laid the second egg. As the clutch grows, the adults will begin brooding for longer periods of time. This progressive brooding behavior allows the eggs to hatch at close intervals. The male and female will share brooding duties; the male will sit 30 to 40 percent of the entire time it takes to hatch the full clutch
