Sometimes you need either the patience of Job,  whistle which I don't have, or a good dose of logic and creativity.  Sherlock Holmes I opted for Door #2!
I wanted to share some photos with you, but the Kodak Gallery (the New and Improved Gallery  aaarggh) didn't offer the Publishing Option.  So, I went back to the old (now called Classic Gallery) and was able to accomplish my goal.
Enjoy these early Autum images of my home decorations!   halloween2

I was looking at some old pictures.
At the end of June I visit the nest of Maxi, there was no action so I went to an other Stork nest. Some of you know it from the webcam. There was a webcam there for one year.
I had no idea what to expect, was there a nest? where there Storks? Did they have eggs this year? etc
I made some pictures and put them in an album, here it is:

 eagle2

Friends, family, ornithologists and bird lovers across the country – including those of us who didn’t know of him until this week – are mourning the passing of a golden eagle named Ithaca.

The eagle, who hatched at Cornell on May 13, 1972, was the second of three eagle chicks bred through artificial insemination by then Cornell graduate student Jim Grier. Grier and his wife, Joyce, raised Ithaca at home with their own children; and the bird of prey became a celebrity of sorts, appearing on Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show” in 1977 and a host of news features afterward. Grier, who joined the North Dakota State University faculty in 1973, frequently brought Ithaca to classes and presentations there.

Ithaca contracted West Nile virus in 2002, and he was euthanized Sept. 29, 2009, because of complications of that illness.

“It is sad that he encountered and suffered from the virus, that we lost him, and that he died so young (only 37 years old – he otherwise probably would have lived many more years and I expected that he would outlive me),” Grier writes on his Web site. “As a biologist, however, I’m familiar with life (and death) and understand that it’s all in the nature of biology.”   crying

 falcon

An adult female peregrine falcon flew into a glass door last Thursday and was brought to Wild Care in Eastham, the Cape’s Emergency Wildlife Clinic, where it was treated for “critical injuries,” according to executive director Lela Larned.

A team of volunteer veterinarians worked on the bird and by Sunday afternoon the falcon was released. 2thumbsup State wildlife biologists suspect the falcon may have been en route from Iceland or Newfoundland to her wintering grounds in South America.

To help offset expenses associated with thousands of Wild Care patients like the peregrine falcon, visit wildcarecapecod.org or address tax-deductible donations to WILD CARE, 10 Smith Lane, Eastham, MA 02642.

In case you haven't heard/read, a violent person has escaped from the old psychiatric center.  The news thinks he may have left the area but to be safe, they wanted folks in the area to be on watch.  Given the violent car jacking/assault not far from this area earlier this week, I think it pays to be aware of surroundings police

That's really freaky jeanne. I remember when I was young, we had a psyche facility near us called Greystone and when word got out that one or more escaped, the police would come around with their car speakers on and let us know to be careful and lock all doors, (we never locked doors back then). It always gave the neighborhood a good scare. Then we had the "tough" guys who would go looking for the escapees.  nono
