And then there were 3! I am still under shock and have yet to calculate the gap exactly but it's about 5.5 days, Charlie laid a 3rd egg at 5:44 this morning. She'd been tight as a tight thing since, denying Tom brooding time, so I have only just had the visual proof of it...

That's a long time in between eggs!!

I wrote to Jamie and asked if he knew about the falcons DT! Apparently not as he wrote back and said:

Very cool Donna! Thanks for sending. It's a great story. I would DIE to get photos of these magnificent creatures!

So, let's see what happens.

Mike texted that the male is new unbanded. WooHoo I'm happy.  I'm sure Athena and Six are close by. They don't migrate.

Oh they both got displaced???  I hope they are some where safe and enjoying each other!

The second camera monitoring the pair of peregrine falcons occupying the nesting box on the 23rd floor of the state Tower Building in downtown Syracuse was put in place today.

Christopher Aloi, an engineering manager for Wholesale Carrier Services, the company that donated the camera, made the announcement today on the Syracuse Peregrine Falcons Facebook page.

Those wishing to watch the peregrines now have two viewpoints -- a view looking directly into the box, and a view from above it. See falconcam.wcs.com.

Susan Lowe Wrisley, a spokeswoman for the Syracuse Peregrine Falcons, told me today the name given to the female bird (Pigott) did not come from her group as I originally reported. It came from the Hamilton Peregrine Falcons watching group in Hamilton, Ontario.

And as for the new male bird, the Syracuse group took the initiative recently to give it a name.

"It's George," Wrisley said.

Latest news.
The Owl is placed in a big gage , next to a female owl. They think it's a male. It's easy to feed him.so they think he is set free illegal with the bands removed. An expert will take DNA and search for a chip. That can take a few weeks.
Greetings Carla

Oh no, poor guy! Hope he likes the female!!   heart

Sad news!!

Southwest Florida Eagle Cam
An update from our friends at CROW - Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, Inc.:

It is extremely likely that the bald eagle brought in yesterday is Ozzie due to the photographs and description sent to us from the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam. It has been confirmed that the bald eagle does have a fractured clavicle and will need a few weeks of rehabilitation.

CROW appreciates the support from our SWFEC community and will provide further updates tomorrow on Ozzie's condition.

OH NO!!!

CROW - Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, Inc. has confirmed the bald eagle taken in for injuries yesterday is missing a talon on its left foot but cannot 100% confirm yet it is indeed our Ozzie.
They bald eagle is undergoing testing and we are confident through CROW's dedicated staff & resources, will receive the care it needs for recovery.
We hope to have a better update on the injuries & recovery time this afternoon.
We appreciate everyone's concern for the eagle and ask you respect CROW and the FWC's time and do not contact them directly. We will provide updates on the eagle when they are available here on the page and in chat.
Thanks for your patience during this time.  March 17th
