Spotted at 33 Yonge St. Toronto (pun most definitely intended)- this large set of windows has been covered with visual markers. In fact, when speaking with one of the security guard there just days after it was applied, he was thrilled to report he watched a dark bird fly directly towards the glass and at 5-10 feet away suddenly veer off. This has been a typically bad spot for many chickadees in the past and we are especially grateful that it has been installed in time for when peak migration happens here for us - usually last week of September and into the first week or two of October. Just ask Leesa McLellan how bad it has been - she works in this building and had the heartbreaking sight of birds flying over her head and crashing into the glass. Kudos to Great West Life for taking this amazing first step. To see the dots, zoom in on the image.

Beginning September 2013, the American Eagle Foundation (AEF) will provide "live streaming" from a wild eagle nest located near the NE coast of Florida. The nest is located approximately 80' up in a "Slash Pine" tree, and was built by the resident eagles approximately seven years ago. Through the years the nest has grown considerably and likely weighs close to a ton.   

Shaky, are you going to have the cam on night roam soon?
