Experience the Spring 2013 edition 7 is also the owls again. It unfortunately is not the season that we had hoped for it. The start looked promising, but for some unknown reason disappearance of the male was a turning point. Initially we were confident that there would register a new candidate. When we then returns almost hope, suddenly hit two appeared on the scene. However, neither had sight tempted to explore how the breeding space inviting the female also fielded. The reason it makes it only guess, but one of the suggestions was that they were the two neighbor neat pile height who came to take but ultimately remained faithful to their partner. We will never know for sure. The cameras provide answers to many questions, but also raise new always on. Ultimately did not see the female in front of the cameras.
As said, the season is over. Elsewhere, most young fledged or going to do the next week. This breaks a crucial period in the life owl: pick the next breeding season. Who knows, we greet the coming season two of the survivors for the cameras.
Rest of us all who participated this season has warmly thank Geert clip maker, grill makers Anneke, Hansel and Mary and of course the family in whose yard it all could happen again. Our thanks also for the many donations!
On March 1, 2014 the cams go back online and hopefully the owls present again!
On behalf STONE thanks for watching!

No eggs this season as the male seemed to have disappeared and female didn't take to the new male.  Sad

5173  Anything Else / Totally OT / Live updates: Judge approves Kodak's bankruptcy plan on: 20-Aug-13, 04:53:08 PM
Tweets from the Court

A U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge approved Eastman Kodak Co.’s reorganization plan, clearing the way for the Rochester-based company to exit bankruptcy.

Judge Allan L. Gropper pushed aside objections from shareholders, who stand to lose in the deal, and said, “Let’s hope (Kodak) will be successful.”

Kodak declared bankruptcy 19 days into 2012 with sales down 16 percent to $6 billion and the flow of money from intellectual property licensing agreements drying up. Years of restructuring, the recession and subsequent tepid recovery, and the $100 million-plus spent every year on U.S. retirees’ health benefits, also left the company burning through its cash.

During bankruptcy Kodak cut its corporate spending by 26 percent, eliminated more than 600 manufacturing, supply chain and product engineering positions, and reduced its global real estate footprint by 30 percent. At the same time, the company said it continued to streamline its business to focus strictly on the most profitable opportunities, getting rid of its Kodak Gallery business and its desktop inkjet printer line.

Slews of objections arose on different aspects of the company’s emergence plan, with those objections coming from a U.S. Trustee overseeing the bankruptcy, retirees and roughly 200 objections filed by individuals, most of them stockholders who will see their shares made worthless paper by Kodak’s reorganization plan.

On Tuesday, Judge Gropper called Kodak’s bankruptcy, “A tragedy of American economic life,” adding that company will “hopefully regain its position in the pantheon of American business.”

Check back later for updates.

Pip is very healthy and doing great
She (and by 'she' I mean I don't know the gender) is beginning to drink water, the spoon in the waterer is shiny and attracts her attention. Ostrich chicks need to be taught to drink water. At first we used the spoon. (syringes are hazardous in a chick, too much water and she need to learn how to drink) She will begin eating chick starter in a day or two.

She stays warm with the red glow from a heat lamp, the temperature is 90 degrees on the left and 93 degrees on the right with the teddy bear. She does have two toes, the smaller toe is pressed up against her main toe and does not separate much yet. She really responds when we walk in and runs to the side of the box to see us and get some attention. We will stop using gloves soon, when she matures enough to eat regular food we will probably stop.

She appreciates being held and talked to. Its hard for me to leave her.
