I thought first.....hawk! Then it looked like a falcon, wasn't sure.

FARMVILLE, N.C. — A Raleigh firefighter on his way home from work Thursday picked up an injured bald eagle from the side of the road and took it to a nearby veterinary clinic for help.
Justin Bolduc was eastbound on U.S. Highway 264 between Wilson and Farmville when he spotted the injured bird. He said he put a shirt over the eagle's head to protect its wings and used gloves to pick it up and place it in the back seat of his car.

He took the eagle to Downeast Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Grifton, where director Marti Brinson said it was treated for eye injuries. She said the bird, which is believed to be younger than 3 years old, is expected to make a full recovery and will likely be released back into the wild next week.

Both Bolduc and Brinson notified the state Wildlife Resources Commission of their actions so they wouldn't be cited for interfering with a federally protected species.

February 15th 2013 Good news was received this morning from Donna in that both Quest and Kendal were observed back in the nest box again this morning. While a short visit, it appears that the love birds are still very much around and hanging close to the nest box. While the weather continues to be colder and there is plenty of snow events predicted in the long range forecast, there appears to be an abundance of renewed activity that is being observed at most of our southern Ontario urban nest sites. Toronto, Scarborough, Don Mills, Etobicoke, Mississauga, North York, Burlington and Brampton are all reporting seeing their peregrines active on either the area buildings and/or on nest ledges themselves. it was up all last year and the only falcon visitor was DC

I know BC but that was last year! I thought I heard it was coming down! 

  She's back again!!

Is that coming down soon? There will be tenants looking for a nest!  Curious!
