Craig Koppie, the USFWS Eagle Coordinator/Raptor Biologist with the Chesapeake Bay Field Office just emailed me with confirmation:

Hi Paul. Yes, the same pair is present this year which produced two chicks this year. I banded one male and one female last week; ages were between 18-20 days. They probably will not venture out of the box until an additional 2 weeks or so. Craig

The male is from Pennsylvania and the female is from New York.  I'm still trying to find out the exact nest sites of origin.

Paul

2!!! Sweet. This is great, thanks Paul.

Yay for good people!

Quite the contrast from those who sue the state because a pair is on their property.

Grrrrr! Absolutely! Any word on that case!

AW Donna I am just reading about Cali!  She was beautiful!  I am so sorry for you loosing her!  She was very lucky to have found her way to you.  I too dislike these people who just let the pets outside to breed and then let them run wild.  Not good for anyone!  That is how we were adopted by our 3 legged cat Mow, years ago.  gave her a good life til her end.  Miss her still.  You have a good heart.  Hugs from here.

I try Annie. Been doing it for years. They seem to find their way to my yard.  Thank you.

!!! Introducing Blaze,Mira and Amora
June 05, 2012 - Toronto - Don Mills
Frank Butson Reports:

Today fellow volunteer Rob Mueller and I had the pleasure/priviledge of attending the banding at Harlequin. Rob got some great shots that he has graciously shared and Ive added a few of my own to tell the story.

Before the banding started several folks watched Quest and her chicks from the street outside. Quest brought in a meal for the chicks shortly before they were collected.

Inside Harlequin headoffice, a large group gathered to see the banding which was filmed and was also being seen live at Harlequins office in New York. That is the picture in a picture on the screen behind Mark Nash in the photos. You can see Quests satellite transmitter in the pics of her. As you can see by her chicks and bringing in the food,it isnt inhibiting her at all!

The chicks Blaze,Amora and Mira came out one by one to meet their adoring public.  Donna Hayes opened the banding with many kind words of support and a great introduction. On behalf of Harlequin Enterprises  Donna (CEO of Harlequin) presented Mark and Marion Nash with a sizeable and much appreciated donation. Donna then was called upon to assist Ministry of Natural Resources biologist and long time friend of CPF Mark Heaton in banding the first chick  Blaze.

More photos will come from the many gathered Im sure so dont be alarmed if you dont appear in any photos seen yet, there are thousands our CPF friends are sorting through.

Sorry for your loss Donna.  And don't get me started on people who let their cats and dogs breed because the kittens/puppies are "so cute".  Nothing cute about homeless, hungry, unvaccinated critters roaming the neighborhood.

I totally agree!

Me too, I agree and thanks Paul. I don't ask for these cats, they find me. If they stay long enough, I have them neutered or spayed. Cali was on Feral Stat, a birth control I give her once a week. Her brother Freddie would have been trapped, neutered and released back at my house. The shelters are so over populated right now with so many Dogs, Cats, puppies and kittens. Nobody else around here cares.  Sad

9777  Other Nature Related Information / General Nature Discussion / Re: Wild 'white' turkeys? on: 04-Jun-12, 10:35:57 PM
The Narragansett Turkey is a breed of Meleagris gallopavo which descends from a cross between the Eastern Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo silvestris) and the domestic turkey brought to Colonial America by English and other European colonists beginning in the 17th century. According to the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy, the Narragansett Turkey is a "historic variety, unique to North America" and is named for Narragansett Bay

This is what I found

Not sure if it's the same as yours!

6/4/2012  ::   Fledgling Update
Both of the fledglings have been observed in flight, at times with the adult male, getting advance lessons. They are being fed at the ledge occasionally. They have reached to the point now where they are capable of receiving in-flight food exchanges. They're developing their skills rapidly.

There have been no reported sightings of any other adult peregrine appearing at or near the ledge.

Seems the new female left. Guess she didn't want a man with baggage!
