Thank you Carly and Kris.  I guess because I feed 1, they all find their way here. Sad how many are roaming in search of food. Wish I had a BIG farm house, I'd take them all.  heart

Cali was hit by a car on Friday, June 1st, at the end of my street. She was about 9 months old. I'm heartbroken. Her brother Freddie is still around but her brother Mercury has also disappeared. Sad This is why I wish Animal Control would pick them up at an early age, they are adoptable. Over crowded right now. Kitten season in full swing.

!!! Niagara Falls Update
June 03, 2012 - Niagara Falls
CPF Postmaster Reports:

June 3rd -2012
Observation reports and updates on our family of peregrines and their hatchlings from our friends to the south in the USA continue to stream in offering very positive news indeed, despite the much cooler non-seasonal temperatures and the much needed rain that has moved in.

While the views over the past 48 hours have been difficult given all of the rain, we can verify that there are at least four hatchlings in the nest, and both resident adults are very much present and attending their new family members.

On yet another front, we are to understand that Wallenda’s walk will take place despite efforts to have him put off his stunt of walking across the falls later in the summer. The good news is that the hatch was much later than expected and the young falcons will not have fledged and as such will still be confined in the nest during the time that Wallenda is expected to do his monkey stunt walk across the falls.

!!! Zanar has hatchlings!
June 01, 2012 - New York - Prescott-Ogdensburg Bridge
CPF Postmaster Reports:

June 1st - 2012
As you know, the old nest box located on the Prescott-Ogdensburg bridge was relocated from the Canadian side of the bridge last year and moved to the Ogdensburg USA side.
The resident territorial adult female named “Zanar” - (who was produced at the Crowne Plazza hotel in Ottawa in 2004) was successful in attracting a new mate this spring and there is good news regarding their efforts. The pair have been successful in hatching several of their eggs this season and have hatchlings in nest box!

Hope these kids make it on their fledges!

3 peregrine falcon chicks hatch in Terre Haute
Sunday June 3, 2012, 7:09 PM

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Three peregrine falcons chicks have successfully hatched atop a 15-story building on the Indiana State University campus.

The birds were banded last week by state Department of Natural Resources staff wearing hard hats, protective eye wear and thick coats as two parent birds circled above the Statesman Towers complex.

ISU biology Professor Steven Lima tells the Tribune-Star (http://bit.ly/K7ZlkT ) the chicks hatched as a result of the third nesting attempt by the nesting pair. He says it's likely the first successful peregrine falcon nest in western Indiana and adjacent eastern Illinois in 50 years.

The raptor was re-introduced in Indiana about 20 years ago first in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend and Evansville. The nest on the ISU campus is among 16 known to exist round the state this sprin
