Anything Else / Totally OT / Re: Migration Series on National Geographic

Anyone watching this series? Last night they focused mostly on elephants and zebras. The best segment (of course!) was about Peregrine Falcons. They showed a cliff side aerie with eyases. A juvenile Bald Eagle came a little too close and momma Pefa started kakking and tore up the sky, escorting the young eagle out of her territory and away from her young. Incredible footage and photography! I was channel surfing and saw about 2 - 3 minutes of the aerie and the feeding. How much total time did they spend on peregrines? It seemed to be about the other species, and the peregrines were secondary in focus.

Member Activities / Events / Falcon Watch Dinner on Saturday, Nov 13th @ 6:00 pm? Interest?

How many fw'ers would be interested in getting together for a meal/drinks on Saturday, Nov 13th around 6:00 pm. Can be flexible. Just putting some thoughts out there for consideration.
I'm also suggesting Village Gate. They have a series of fine restaurants. I've enjoyed meals at both Selena's (Mexican) and The Gate House (char broil burgers/specialty pizza).
The one topic on the agenda would be 2 minutes devoted to convincing Carol P to bring brandy to the Broad St Bridge on Jan 1.

Thank you all. I celebrated my birthday by watching two famous species of birds that migrate thruout the United States and eastern Canada. These birds are usually seen in flocks of nine in large open fields surrounded by imposing architectural edifices that have exorbitant admission fees to these natural audobon sighting areas. Suffice to say that I paid and witnessed beautiful acrobatics, superb skills of hunting and catching as well identifying many band numbers. The final result: Toronto Blue Jays - 6; Baltimore Orioles - 1. Larry O

I didn't have any trouble blowing up the picture and reading the bands. It was quite clear and explicit. It said: "If you can read this, you're flying too close!" Larry O I'm surprised you can't see the bands good enough to ID from the pics with PPE standing backwards on that railing. The effort is appreciated Joycie and Brian! Joyce is right, I tried it too, blew it up, cropped it, enhanced it.....magnify....NADA.

I was on the pedestrian bridge and could easily see the pefa on the 3rd ibeam, but never did see the 2nd ibeam pefa. Sometimes they really blend in. Larry O They certainly are resting up from the last few months! I think Calli wore them out!

The Broad St bridge still seems to be the most frequent gathering spot for fw'ers. From there we go where the PFs are. Larry O Yea! Got reservations at the Radisson. Arriving 7/16 afternoonish! Is there anything "planned" offically? Or just check out the street corners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
