76  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: Larry & others need help (posted on Imprints) on: 22-Feb-10, 02:40:04 PM
I've had a email thread going with Jim P today.
He believes that he has located the source of the problem with log-ins for posting falcon watch reports.
He is researching a solution.
The problem should also be affecting Dana, Lisa and anyone else not associated with maintaining rfalconcam.

I received an email that passwords were reset. I followed directions (altho' I'm really wondering what the point is anymore.) It is absolutely not working. The login/password are not recognized. They are not accepted.

I'm getting really tired of being told that I'm the one that can't follow directions when the DIRECTIONS ARE WRONG.

Or the DIRECTIONS DON'T WORK.

This is where I keep ending up.

I volunteer for several organizations which include keeping up websites. I make things easy and when I say something works, IT WORKS.

I don't have to constantly email and say IT DOESN'T WORK.

I certainly don't tell people that IT WORKS WHEN IT DOESN'T.

These are the directions that I am following:
Posting Reports on the FalconWatch Blog

The FalconWatch blog uses WordPress, a very popular software program for writing blogs.  WordPress blogs are powerful and easy to use.  You’ll find writing your Fledge Watch report to be no more difficult than typing an email.  However, if you find using WordPress too difficult, just email your watch report to fwrpt08@rfalconcam.com, and we’ll post it for you.

After logging on to the Falcon Watch blog, you will see the blog’s Dashboard, the place where all of the data in the blog is organized.  Here are the steps you need to take.
Logging On

Log on by clicking the Log in link under the Meta section on the right side of the blog.  You may need to scroll down a bit to find it.  You can also go straight to the login screen at http://www.rfalconcam.com/falconwatch/wp-admin.
Type your Username and Password in the spaces provided, then click the Log in button.

login screenYour username and password need to be entered exactly as they have been sent to you.  All usernames are in lower case letters, and generally follow this format:  <<< editted here>>>.

If you forget your password, click the Lost your password link.  Type your email address or your username and click the Get New Password button.  A new password will be sent to your email address.

Donna,
Thanks for the memories. As a kid, I watched that show religiously and every week it would scare the jeepers/creepers out of me. I still get chills on the intro.

So I wanted to post something on Imprints.
Having not done so for months, I did not remember my login and password.

Clicked on the "forgot password" link.

Guess what you need to provide to continue: login and password.

Rod Serling would be impressed!!!

Or maybe this is more like the Outer Limits where they control the vertical, the horizontal, the focus and blur.

It is a headless pigeon.

I had a similar experience but no one yelled at me. The staff explained that they have had trouble with people violating the zones of separation from the birds in attempts to get the "great" picture.
Sorry you had a negative experience. I'm not with Wild Wings but I do enjoy going out there.

Jean,
My mother and I went today also. Checked out all the birds, esp the PEFA.
I recently sponsored Barf. What the heck.
Did some XMas shopping. Bought 2 baskets for XMas presents.

Hi everyone,

I just went to Wild Wings for their thanksgiving sale and it was really wonderful.  The sale is continuing tomorrow and Sunday.  All proceeds go to the care of the birds housed there.  They recently lost their 20= year old redtail, Shasta.  I posted the story of him and the female in the wild who would visit him.  That female was calling for him today.  So sad!!!

Wild Wings helped provide food for Mariah when she was at the rehabber's and they are a phenomenal organization.  Many of their volunteers are also Mariah enthusiasts (A recently built classroom they constructed has pictures of M/K and some of their babies)

They also have an online store
