Anything Else / Totally OT / OT - I just had an awesome visitor!

A red-tailed hawk landed on my boss's windowsill (on the 6th floor of the Old Button Factory diagonally across from Kodak Office) right in front of where I sit, facing in. A smaller bird was dive-bombing it, probably because its nest is close by. He/she sat there for at least 10 minutes, until one of my other bosses called me to ask a question and I told her what I was watching. She rushed down and right into my other boss's office, right up to the hawk, at which time the hawk said “yikes!” and it left. Anyway, I’m really glad I was sitting here to see it up close. It looked like a juvie because the coloring wasn’t too defined yet. Nice way to brighten up a Monday. Just wanted to share Sue (Bess)

MAK - I'm so sorry you have to go through the surgery but, if it improves your life, it's worth it! I'm sure Beauty and Archer will be waiting for you when you're able to watch them again. You will be in my prayers for a very speedy recovery! Sue (Bess)

Monday morning on my way to work on I-490, we had a rare shower and I saw the resident red tail (whom I've named Clinton since she hangs around the Clinton Street exit) on her favorite light post with her wings spread wide. She was probably very happy for her early morning shower and at least started out cool! I'm surprised I haven't seen too many birds hanging around the falls during this heat wave.

Hi everyone! Purely by accident, I spotted Beauty yesterday around 4:45 pm flying across Exchange Blvd and landing on Mercury's outstretched hand. It's the first time I've seen her in many months since I work in High Falls and don't get many chances to walk up to the 4 corners area. So after being extremely aggravated that they had closed the Court St. bridge, necessitating turning around and heading back towards Broad Street, my aggravation turned to joy when I spotted Beauty! I hope to talk a stroll on the pedestrian bridge today at noontime, and hope I see some watchers Sue (Bess)

I'm so sorry that Jemison is injured. I haven't posted hardly at all, but I've been watching every step of the way. He's a very lucky peregrine to have all of you keeping such a close eye on him. How can she not fully recover with all of our thoughts and prayers? I hope to be involved for next year's brood. I really miss it. Heal fast, little Jemison!
