The little owlet has a very sweet face. Hope everything goes well for the second one.

I thought there might have been a pip last night when Altera took a break, but it was difficult to be sure.

As of this afternoon, they've confirmed the second egg has hatched!

Egg laying is getting earlier and earlier! Kaver  wasn't even home at this time from his Winter vaca!! Is it the climate???

That's what I've been thinking..Beauty hasn't usually laid eggs until mid to late March or early April!

Harriet is gone, a new unbanded female is paired with Ozzie now.  She would have been around 17 years old as is Ozzie.  I will miss her, she was a beautiful falcon that endured many challenges trying to reproduce over the years.  I hope she is flying free now.

SPCA of Erie Co. FB page update on Diamanté! 

***Wildlife Report*** We are happy to report that Diamonte, the central terminal male Peregrine, will be transported to Syracuse this weekend. He's recovered from a broken ulna and large gash on his neck after another male came in and took over his mate and nest. We're lucky to have been able to save his life as Peregrine's are endangered in New York State.

In Syracuse, Diamonte will be in a 175' enclosure for flight evaluation and flight conditioning. We are confident that he'll be released in another area where he may go on to breed and have a second chance at life.

Early AM visit

Hope was up in the tree this morning, enjoying the view. Then she climbed back down carefully, and went back into the nest. She and Juliet shared some fish, and Juliet preened Hope's head feathers.





The new, spacious set-up for Peace looks good.

AEF-NEFL Here's Peace just placed in his nest platform inside the 100' x 25' x 20' flight cage outside at Audubon. Peace had a shower today and groceries were left! He will remain there and take flight when he's ready. We look forward to his release in the nest area when Audubon declares him ready.  Until then we will be able to view Peace on a live cam that will stream starting next week!  Here is the link:  www.acfbop.org  We will post when the cam is live.
