Another problem has developed with Main Camera in addition to the internet issue. It appears to be dead. So, yet another trip downtown for me when I get the chance.

Sorry this has caused so many problems for you..we all appreciate what you do to keep things running.

Good grief! Shocked Why don't they have the common sense to temporarily block off that window with shades or cardboard so the poor falcon can stop wasting time and energy fighting his reflection!

A lot of energy expended on that window.  winner

I thought so too, Dot.  He's going to hurt himself, if something isn't done.

Altera's been off the eggs now for about 4 hrs, according to chat, so not looking that they'll be viable at this point.   It's cold there with lots of ice buildup.  Sad

Maybe still time to try again? She will learn! Sad though.

I see she never returned to the nest.  Wonder if she got spooked by something, to totally abandon the nest?  Sad...

Maybe not used to people watching her in the window???

I was watching a couple nights ago and whoever's controlling the camera moved it to show Mr. coming in with food..she kept looking up at it and wouldn't eat.  Maybe between the window and camera she had enough?

We have Internet connection problems at the Times Square building. I've been working with Netsville since Monday to get this problem resolved. They need to look at their equipment at TSB.

Thanks, Shaky.

Cute name and did you hear the ice fall off her when she got up? Feel bad and she may be a newb mom and  that Ice just bugged her! Hoping for the best!

I did!  Every move she made, she crackled..poor thing!  I think they believe she's young and a first-time mom.

Alessondra named the new female Altera, who had an awful night at the nest last night when an ice storm moved through.  Several chatters said she left the nest earlier, before the storm, for a couple hrs so it'll be interesting to see if these eggs make it...it was very cold there.

Thanks, Kris, for the nest box info.

I haven't been following this cam closely but am aware the original female was shot. It's good a new female came along. But that nest tray looks for all the world like a big cat litter box LOL

Dot in PA

I did find this nest box info on their site:

The nest is in a fiberglass planter box atop an iron planter ledge under upper story windows of the front our home in NW Oklahoma City. It is one of three planter boxes on the ledge, all of which are approximately 12” deep, by 12” tall, and 24” wide. They are filled with an organic mix of vermiculite, peat moss, and mushroom compost. This mix was chosen both for good growing conditions, as well as a healthy, chemical-free soil for the owls.

You're welcome, Dot!
