I'm so glad to hear she finally flew!  DC is looking pretty comfortable up there these days..we might not be watching Falcons on camera next year!

Junior is headed for rehab. He has defective feathers on his right wing. If they come in right after his first molt he can be released. If not he will be an education bird.

BCAW watchers had noticed a week or so ago that his right wing feathers are still in the shaft and haven't emerged making it hard for him to fully extend the wing.  Glad he's safe and, hopefully, he can fly free someday.  Dorothy did an awesome job for her age!

Kris, there was a tweet from Patty at about 1:30 today that said Cadence was doing "lots of winging on Wilder."  She did some winging and walking on that yellow building on State Street on Monday night as well, so I am assuming her wings and legs are okay. She's had a few scares and has even done a stint in juvie jail, so maybe her instincts are telling her she may have fledged a bit too soon, and she is just slowing down until her strength catches up.

Thanks, Kris.  It's a good article, although I had to correct one thing in the comments.  Counting this year's three, thirteen falcons have hatched at the Times Square Building.

In one of your pics a few days ago, the object on the left is there too from what I see.

Really sad and you have to wonder why there has been no efforts made to give them a nest tray or covered box.

It is sad..they've been nesting together for several years now..strange year, indeed.

Kathy and I went out to take a look at the Yellow Pages nest today to see 3 eggs now for the Petra/Yellow Pages Falcons. The male was not in site but the female was closely guarding her eggs and would not fly off so I was not able to confirm her band numbers.

Still no hatch. Lyn was up off eggs fast to voice her opinion about us being there so I snapped a shot and left. will have to back again next week or so to have another look. Could only see 2 of the eggs.

Looks like the first set of eggs were not fertile. only 2 of the 3 eggs could be seen on May 7th and on May 15 all 3 were gone. I checked all ledges to see if there had been any more laid but there was nothing yet. Will have to give Lyn time to lay another clutch and then hatch so will not be going up to check for a while.


!!! Nest has failed this year.
June 19, 2015 - Scarborough - Yellow Pages

Checked Yellow Pages. Doesn’t look promising. Checked all the ledges. Lynn was on the NW ledge on north side but no signs of nest. Found 1 egg on NE ledge East side but not attended.
