So glad this relationship is working out. I'm sad to think that Pa has been displaced but VM is doing a good job and, for the eyases sake, that's what's most important. Thanks for posting pics, Donna. I knew they were banding today and saw reports/pics while kids were taken out but didn't know genders. Hope it continues to go well here!

Posted on FB 53 min. ago..I'm confused! Canadian Peregrine Foundation 53 mins · . King ST. Erin and Stormin are living on the west faces ledges of the same nest building. Yesterday 3p.m. food to the ledge. Both Erin and Stormin seen at the same time, on the same ledge. Both disappeared behind the dark, shadowy pillar. If you take a good look at the photos that were posted on the CPF website, that is not a peregrine falcon the male was "brooding" It was prey. The colouring and feathering of the remains, does not match that of a raptor. These two have been very sneaky. We had a suspicion that they had moved the nest. The spot they have chosen is very tight to see. The behaviour I had been seeing was not of a predators in the area or anything else, but Erin was not in view at any time. Stormin was always seen, until I saw Erin on the top of high condo tower. Just had to get out there and follow her, to the west side of the nest building. Flights to this side of building is not direct but twisting and dodging other buidlings, and they don't always take the same route to get to the new nest. From what I have been seeing, I would not doubt that there is a hatch. CPF Didn't realize this was CPF's response to my question on FB..just saw it. Thanks for posting!

From CPF
From CPF
!!! Confirmed Hatch! May 11, 2015 - Etobicoke - Sun Life Centre
CPF Postmaster Reports:
Monday May 11th - 2015 A quick round of the web cams and it appears that everyone’s suspicions were correct, in that some time between Friday and Saturday, there was indeed a hatch out in Etobicoke! At least one egg has hatched, and via the photo evidence, three eggs remained unhatched as of this late afternoon.
Congratulations Etobicoke!!!
Congrats O'Connor and Lucky!

It looks as if Beauty isn't sitting on the egg any more. Does that mean it's probably not going to hatch or just that it's warm enough she doesn't have to sit on it?
My thoughts are that it's not going to hatch, she's starting to push it away and eventually it'll be disposed of..either by B & DC or DEC at banding. This is just my opinion but only Beauty knows for sure.

No clue what this is!! I don't recall seeing this on the babies in the past!! I'll check my photos!! These are from last year.......no black. Hmmm!!! The first pic shows black on the chest that other years don't show..maybe a concern. SGB posted on BCAW about our babies: "I do think we need to watch for an increase in the "black" areas...DC was really picking at its "armpits" earlier...this is how it started at Blackdog AND redwing...increase of parasites=weaken chicks, spending lots of time on their backs, usually followed by death.....just saying..I watched it both times at those nests."

We've seen those dark spots on every brood at Times Square. I don't honestly recall at Kodak-maybe I wasn't watching that closely back then. Could be a Beauty thing. I think DC was trying to figure out how to flip it without hurting it.
They were all up and feeding. All 3 have flopped over at one point or another. The 1st one was a yellow foot-this time it was a pink foot. One of them flopped over a few minutes ago & righted itself just fine.
We can certainly ask DEC to look at the pictures if anything really seems amiss.
Thanks. I know we've seen the dark spots before but they kind of scared me with all their comments plus I've been worrying about the baby falling over so much myself.

People on BCAW are posting that they're concerned with this baby falling on its back all the time and wonder if it might have parasites that are weakening it to the point it can't stay upright. They also said just now that Beauty fed the babies but this one didn't get anything. There are some darkened areas in its wingpits and belly that might indicate blood areas from parasites or it could just be the HD camera. However, in past years, some nestlings at a couple sites that BCAW watchers sent emails to that they suspected parasites, nothing was done and several chicks died. They also noted that while our baby was on its back, DC was picking at it and said that the parents can see the bugs and will pick them off..is this what DC was seeing? Don't want to raise a red flag yet but might be adventagious for the DEC to see pics and be made aware of what is happening here..we don't any of these babies to die from parasites.

Yes I remember that back in 2013. I recall it crawled away from her and she just left it there and didn't even try to get it back under her so she knew it wasn't well. This little one - so far - looks and sounds good and she's keeping it tucked close to her. Talons crossed, it stays healthy.
I remember that and last year was an awful time for her. Praying she has at least one do well this yr.

OK-I know the picture is a little creepy-hate seeing them on their backs like this, but she was back under shortly after... Anyway...this one has yellow feet already And these 2 have pink feet I wonder if the pinkies will turn yellow soon or blue? Last feeding, Big Bird got most all the food..Lil Bit got one bite. It was on its back a couple times and Beauty had to push it upright. She hardly called for them to eat but, if she did, the 2 that got next to nothing responded by going to her., with open mouths, but no food was given then. I have only seen this feeding but the smallest one seems to be struggling. I know it's only 2 days old and they can get behind fast..just a worrier here and wondering how other feedings have been.
