Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. The Lady is a legend and has done her fair share. If this is it for her then so be it. even if this year is a failure doesn't mean its all over. Yes she's older, but the problem could be him (Beauty had some bad years. looking at her now the problem might of been Archer) This is a new male and he's been off the eggs more, could have something to do with it! Actually, this is the pair's 3rd year together so he should be better at his duties than he has been.

Saw this post by mwplay on BCAW posted yesterday: I've been away from the computer all afternoon. This was posted on SF Yahoo Forum.
Report from the canyon -- RIP Eliza, Blue Z/10
Came down to see what we could see from my office across the street from the nest (arrived around 1:30). We only observed one juvenile, first on bay 10, then on several others. Since last night (when all 3 were on camera at 8:20), I've only seen two on PG&E, and that was this morning.
Around 3:30 I observed what seemed to be a food drop at the SE corner of the Steuart tower.
At 3:45, we saw a juvenile fly in from the east and hit the north side of 123 Mission and drop to the street below. When I went down to check on her, she was dead (band Z/10).
We're still seeing one juvenile on the nest ledge, Lotta (Red 25/R). Both parents came by around 4:30, one with prey.
Hopefully Lotta will stay put for a while. No sign of Terra/Yellow, but there are several places out of camera range on PG&E so it's possible she hasn't fledged yet.
If you're in the area this evening, keep an eye on the sky, not just the PG&E building.
Jim
Fly free, Eliza.

I don't know exactly why carly but I know this highway(echangeur Turcot) have to be destroyed soon. Maybe it's the reason.
Is it going to be replaced then? Maybe it will be better for them to find another place because that doesn't look too safe for them by the looks of the top of the nest site...looks like a large piece of concrete is ready to break off.

OK, mom put the deceased eyas on the other side! Don't forget, Polly and Argo are brother and sister! At least they have 1 healthy eyas to raise. Nest failed last year also.
Nicole said that this isn't a bridge like I thought, but an overpass that they nest under. Polly was seen carrying something that looked like a baby and, as they were going to band any babies anyway, they went up to see what she had placed on the other side and found the dead one. The other was healthy and banded without any disturbance from either parent, they just watched. They also found an unhatched egg which will be examined plus a necropsy will be done on the deceased baby. Last year, she had a deceased baby too that she laid beside for several days..was heartbreaking to see. There's a pic on FB of the area where they nest..sad because they attached a nice box for them close to this that they won't use. Both babies are females and they might give the surviving one a name later.
