With her past history and age, I wonder what her reproduction capabilities will be this year. I'm finding that there are many Peregrines that I wasn't aware of their advanced ages-SW, Hera, Dorothy, Athena.

Egg no. 3 hatched at 8:04 PM. Mme. Owl seems to be postponing her constitutional this evening to provide the owlets with their first feedings.

Is she a pro or what? 3 hatchings in one day!

         

not yet. He doesn't have a lot of money and has no support in this new setup (before he was on the University server), so he can't afford a lot. He's paying for it all himself.

yep!! i was just about to post a picture of that.
What this virtuoso timing may well mean is that she somehow sensed -- back on the 14th or 15th, whenever -- that the one egg out of 5 was maturing too quickly and kept it uncovered for all those hours, then took it back. Too bizarre to comprehend!

Reverse Prey Exchange -

DC had been guarding the box.  He was there from about 11:07 - 11:17.  Flew off for a minute, returns to box.  Beauty shows up with prey about 3 minutes into video.  DC takes prey and departs.  Beauty leaves about a minute or two later

Last year the female at Cobb died on cam due to being egg bound, it was tragic.  

Good she was able to expel it.

I watched that story unfold last year and it was very sad to watch.

She probably doesn't understand what is happening to her and why she can't lay her eggs.  She's been doing it for over a decade, must be quite confusing for her.

I feel so bad for her and E2.  It's been a rough couple yrs. for them.

Dixie and Yankee had their second egg at around 8:43am 3/30/14.

Yes she is.

Thought so with the name...Statler Towers hatch. Hope she's OK.

What a rough year for Dorothy. It looks like she's trouble producing yet another egg this morning, possibly artound 7AM (see comments from March 24 post for info on the other). She spent last night roosting on a rail above the nest box that would put her right above the new spot this morning that looks a lot like an egg yolk.
It's just not her year.
