That is Perkeo.

Do you live near them?
No I live in Dresden. The distance is ca. 361.6 miles.

Oh, so I guess you can't go and watch them then.  Any near you that you can see?

Female Falcon Injured:

SOUTH BEND -- Bad news for fans of the city's peregrine falcons.
Diva, the new female that had been spotted downtown in recent days, was found injured Friday morning along Riverside Drive at Leeper Park, local raptor rehabilitator Carol Riewe said.
"She was bumped by a car, obviously," Riewe said of the 1-year-old bird from Youngstown, Ohio.
The person who found the bird took her to South Bend Animal Care and Control, Riewe said. From there, she was transported to Gilmore Park Animal Clinic, where she was diagnosed with a spinal injury
"It's a nerve problem, a spinal problem that is preventing her from using her left leg," Riewe said.
Riewe said Diva is in her care now. The bird is resting, she said, and has been given an anti-inflammatory medication.
"I have her here at my home, in my hospital," she said. "We'll just see how things go. With nerve things, you look for certain results in a certain number of days … and you keep playing it out until either the bird recovers or you hit a plateau."
Unfortunately, any possibility of she and Zeus mating this season has been dashed, she said.
"Even if she recovers from this, she'll have to have some re-conditioning first before she goes back to fly, and it's going to put her too far into the (mating) season," Riewe said.
Diva's presence downtown — she had been spotted in recent weeks hunting with Zeus and was finally identified earlier this week — had raised hopes that she and Zeus would mate. Zeus' previous mate, Guinevere, died last year.
Riewe said it's not too late for Zeus to meet another bird. In fact, a second female was actually spotted over the weekend tussling with Diva for control of the nesting box atop the County-City Building.
"It's possible," she said. "If there's somebody else out there looking around, somebody could cruise in."
Nevertheless, "It's a bummer," she said.

How sad for her...hope she can recover.  She had a lot of spunk.

Just posted over at CMNH on the front page:

FYI:  Due to connectivity issues, we are not able to post updated photos at this time. We are working to solve this issue and appreciate the patience of Falconcam enthusiasts as we work to effect a solution.

As of 3/20/2014 at 1:00 pm, SW had not yet laid her first egg, though both Boomer and SW were interested in deepening the scrape. This represents the first year in recent memory where the Terminal Tower nest was not the first Peregrine Falcon nest with eggs in Ohio.

Again we apologize for the interruption in service.

How old is SW?  I also think I read somewhere that she came from Pittsburgh. Related to Dorothy?

She is 15 years old, born in 1999 at Gulf Tower nest nest in Pittsburgh.  Her mother was Tasha, couldnt find her father's name but he was displaced eventually by Dorothy's son Louie.  (O'Connor's sister displaced Dori a few years ago)

Thanks!  So much connected history!

Very sad news today:

I have bad news to report. As you know, we have not seen T2 since St. Paddy's Day. I asked our contact at Amtrak to have yard workers take a look around. The track inspector reports that workers saw a dead hawk on the tracks earlier this week. They knew about the nest and have seen no action there since that time. I guess we have to accept the fact that we have lost T2. RIP brave hawk. You will always be our hero.

Fly free, T2.   crying   sorrow

WHOA!!!! How cool.

"March 20 – Mme. Owl victorious. The interloping starlings were dealt a serious setback this morning when Mme. Owl captured and killed one of them. It wasn’t the quick kill that any raptor strives for (a basic risk-management measure), but it got the job done. This is not only good news for Mme. Owl, who had a good breakfast and lunch out of it, and will probably be left alone by the local starlings for the rest of the season, but for the other native cavity nesting birds of the area, notably, in this case, the red-bellied woodpeckers."

you can WATCH it; go to the site

Adult female was just in box bowing with Zeus.   Shocked

Uh oh!  Where's Diva??

Not looking good, this other female has been in and out with him a few times.  May still be on going..monitoring now.  May be the same female she fought with before..same band colors anyway.

Wow!  I thought Diva drove her off...guess not! I think I read on BCAW that it might have looked like Zeus wasn't too receptive to Diva.

Cams here have been frozen for several days now. Just read this on CMNH:

I am sorry to have to report that Harvey told me yesterday that Expedient has pulled the plug on the cameras. :-( We have been fortunate to have Expedient donate this connection for more than ten years and APK provided it for about seven years before that. Why Expedient chose this particular time and why other arrangements weren't made, I don't know. Harvey told me yesterday that he is trying to work something out with Terminal Tower to connect to their services, which happen to also be through Expedient.

Had I been given some advance warning, I would have done my best to stop this from happening. I will share any other information I get with all of you as soon as I receive it.

That's so sad for all the followers here.  Sad
