I hope I am not repeating what has no doubt been discussed at length, but how I wish there could be another nest box placed on a building closer to the one Pigott is on so she could move and leave Beauty alone. Not living there, I do not know the territory! Or, would it be then a territorial battle? Sorry for my ignorance in this!
From what I've seen of the area, there really aren't any other tall buildings around BS to place a box on other than a nearby hospital that probably wouldn't be receptive to Peregrines anyway. Maybe some Rochesterians on here could give you a better answer.

These are the most migratory of the world's falcons, the adults heading to Patagonia in southern South America for the winter before returning to its high Arctic breeding grounds in Greenland on an annual basis. That is a minimum of a 20 thousand mile annual commute and some huge open water crossings!!
Then there is the breed that makes the huge open water crossing from Rochester to Toronto... once. It's the wafting savory scent of poutine...

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration said Friday it will allow some companies to kill or injure bald and golden eagles for up to 30 years without penalty, an effort to spur development and investment in green energy while balancing its environmental consequences. The change, requested by the wind energy industry, will provide legal protection for the lifespan of wind farms and other projects for which companies obtain a permit and make efforts to avoid killing the birds.Under the change announced Friday, companies would have to commit to take additional measures if they kill or injure more eagles than they have estimated they would, or if new information suggests that eagle populations are being affected. The permits would be reviewed every five years, and companies would have to submit reports of how many eagles they kill. Now such reporting is voluntarily, and the Interior Department refuses to release the information. "This is not a program to kill eagles," said John Anderson, the director of siting policy at the American Wind Energy Association. "This permit program is about conservation.http://news.yahoo.com/wind-power-us-extends-permit-eagle-deaths-145931345--finance.htmlhttp://

As a watcher for many years at this site and from the ground at my own, I know how stressful it was for the people on the ground yesterday and the day before. And for those of us waiting for your word, it was gut wrenching. I thank-you all so much for being so dedicated and unbiased. :clap:We all hope for the best and in our hearts have our favorites , but we always hope for not harm to anyone. You displayed that yesterday. and through it all , you still had humor. We know that these things will be occurring more and more but your eyes are so important. eyes to the sky and may it be peaceful. Bev in Alberta Beautifully said, Bev.
