Interesting. Like with dogs, they go on sight besides smell. I had an Old English Sheepdog clipped down and the neighbor dog always loved playing with her. The cat liked her. The cat ran and hid when we first came home and the neighbor's dog growled at her until they got close to each other. A neighbor up the street here raised cockatiels and they definitely knew if a person was "their person" or someone they knew. I agree on the peregrines as far as vocalizations also. Interesting Shaky!
You referred to Donna as Shaky. You made her dream come true.

Wilmington Falcons I received some sad news about "White" from Craig Koppie today... "Sorry to have to report that one of the 2013 Wilmington juveniles was found dead on September 4, 2013 in Pennsylvania. He was recovered at the Lehigh Valley International Airport near Allentown apparently struck by an aircraft, possibly around 8 a.m. A straight line distance between Wilmington and the airport is 65.71 miles. I am sure he traveled many more miles since leaving Wilmington to this final destination point." So sorry-very sad.

It's on the left in this photo. It's located on the northwest corner of Main and State Streets, and you can see it on the rfalconcam stream from Cam 4. It's the building with the flagpole on top.
I know the Powers building today having seen it in person many times but in the pic it's the big building in the left foreground then? I guess I don't recognize it without the round top and the flag.

Just posted over at TR Residential:
Sep 5, 2013 - Released!
I was at the ready with my camera, and the bird was too fast to capture much of! The MNR came and took the bird to the roof, opened the bag, and our juvie departed instantly.
We watched him fly off until we couldn't see him any longer. He flew south, and there were no other falcons on site to harass him.
And so it was, a successful release!
Hooray for all involved-glad that it was released successfully!

Here's a shot of a then unfinished 2013 Wall Therapy mural of a peregrine falcon. The finished version currently adorns the Natural Oasis Eatery on Monroe Avenue in Rochester. The artist is Sarah C. Rutherford. I just heard a radio interview with her about the Wall Therapy project. Apparently she's a Rochester falcon fan from the Kodak days.
Odd looking Peregrine
