Good to see her!  I see she likes that “grass” piece on the railing!

We’ve had piles of feathers like that when Cooper’s Hawks get one of the Mourning Doves at our backyard feeder.

This is the nest where Bailey hatched from last yr. Another sad happening last night when a GHO took one of the nestlings...same thing happened last yr to two of Bailey’s siblings.  crying

Watch video with extreme caution...

The two chicks were ringed today 7-2-2018.  They believe it's two males.   2thumbsup

Fledge Watch Day 2
The first fledge from yesterday was found on the sidwalk by security at 150 York St. The bird was safely placed in a box and kept secure until Bruce arrived. Bruce confirmed it's yellow tape bird, X/93 banded at the Sheraton Hotel on June 5th. Healthy, with no signs of injury, he was placed in a carrier and held until dark. He was returned to the nest ledge to join his two unfledged siblings.. Hopefully he'll get a good meal or two and all three will wait out the rainy weather expected on, Wednesday.
Many thanks to Security and Environmental staff of 150 York St., Security and Hotel Staff at the Sheraton Centre Hotel for your ongoing support of the Peregrines.
A big thank you to
Bruce and Sally for your assistance tonight with the release of the little guy.

BD/74 was released on top of 101 Hudson this morning and rocketed to the north like a bullet.  I missed by 10 min. being where I could photograph her coming off of the building.  But I did see two flying on top of the Trump Apts (sorry folks) and Plaza 5.  Here is a link to one of my photos on the Conserve Wildlife of NJ site:

I did mention that if NJFW and put different colored tape on each bird, we could have ID'd the fledglings.

So awesome! I saw Mariah do this with Isaura. This year we were pleasantly surprised when Mike dropped off food with Sundara. That was a first for me.  wub2

Great story from FB!

An incredible story of 'brotherly love' from Duncan Mill that deserves to have its own post!   VELCRO continues to amaze us with his flying skills and now he has done something even more amazing!

THOR was back on the roof of the nest building after his second rescue last night and ready to start another day.  When he took flight this afternoon from the southwest corner of the roof, he headed into open space and we had no idea where he was going to land.  Suddenly, another falcon took off at jet speed after him and guided him back, but THOR, now heading towards #225, looked like he was going to hit the building.  Again, he was intercepted and guided back to the roof of the nest building where both falcons landed safely.  When we looked through our bins, we were flabbergasted! to find that it was not a parent but his brother VELCRO!!!! who came to his assistance.   I immediately took this photo (Velcro on the left).   An intervention like this is done by a parent, and none of the fledge watchers have witnessed another fledgling performing this action!!  Way to go VELCRO <3  Cheers, Lucie 🙂
