[This little guy--I'm calling him SFO--accepted his first meal on the fist this morning. After testing his jesses a couple of times he settled down and looked around the room, regarded the meal of half-quail on the glove, and then bent to eat a good meal. He did not even budge when this flash photo was taken to document his progress!I am not entirely happy with the way his left wing lays while eating. It is doubtlessly still quite sore. In fact, his injury is barely apparent but is something that would be likely to inhibit perfect flight at this stage of healing. I think we are off to a very good start.]

The Garden of Eagles
Many may know that 2009 eagle HK has been seen at Honeybee Golf Course in Virginia Beach with another eagle. And the other day Cary Lynch and Beverly Nettleton found Azalea (2009) in Chesapeake off Hillcrest. This morning Jim Deal and Joe Foreman found Azalea again off Hillcrest, but apparently she is keeping company with another eagle. Photographs will be posted later.
