From CPF Facebook - just posted tonight:
Well, after being on hatch watch for the past 4 days, I am happy to report at least 3 hatches for Quest and Mystery!!!(Don Mills). Saw a great feeding this afternoon. Pictures are from the parking lot across the street and into the box, so not the greatest but gold to me cause I saw 3(maybe a fourth, time will tell) beautiful faces! It was reported that window washers were there on Friday (parents NOT happy)and saw 4 eggs, so fingers crossed for that! Fledge watch in around 38 days!!!!
Awesome! Thanks, Carly!

Carolyn over at BCAW# just posted this update:
Omaha peregrine falcon tests positive for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza
The peregrine falcon that died in a nest box on the WoodmenLife Tower in downtown Omaha tested positive for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza.
The adult female falcon, named Chayton, died April 18 after being observed, via WoodmenLife?s webcam, behaving oddly. The online webcam provides a live public view of the nest box.
The falcon was retrieved by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and HPAI testing was performed at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?s Veterinary Diagnostic Center.
HPAI is a highly contagious virus that spreads easily among birds and has been detected in both domestic poultry and wild birds. Among wild birds, waterfowl and other waterbirds appear more susceptible to HPAI than other species.
Peregrine falcons? diet consists mostly of other birds, and the species routinely preys upon ducks, shorebirds and other waterbirds. The deceased falcon may have been exposed to HPAI from its prey.
How very sad. I watched the video of her passing away and it was tough to watch. I wonder about our Beauty although we'll most likely never know what she died from.

Detroit Zoo won't be running their web cam this year due to maintenance at the site however they have confirmed that Linn's daughter Velcro is still there this year and she and her mate have 3 eggs so far!!
From FB:
Over the last several years, we have been delighted to see thousands celebrate the peregrine falcons who nest on the iconic Detroit Zoo water tower. We have encouraged this by providing a live video feed, allowing the community to watch these birds become parents and raise their chicks.
This year, due to ongoing maintenance of our water tower and parking lots, we have decided to discontinue the live feed, and we will not be broadcasting footage of the nest on the Detroit Zoo website. While we know some lovers of these majestic birds will be disappointed by this decision, we remain committed to sharing with you the falcons? journey on our social media pages.
We are pleased to announce the peregrine falcon female from last year, Velcro, has returned to the water tower, along with an unbanded, unidentified male. The pairing has resulted in three eggs in their nest so far.
Stay tuned for more periodic updates about this dynamic duo!

From CPF Facebook:
March 26th First egg laid for Indie and Aria
This afternoon Aria laid an egg between 4 and 5 p.m. I was at the window and saw the egg, then the wings flying around one level above with one bird circling - it would seem that our old mom is back from the West Mall - Aria broke loose, all three flew off - and then Aria returned to lay on her new little one - I again witnessed Indie bringing her food. We were hopeful that we would have a big successful year this year but it seems that old mom is determined.
