Eaglets removed from nest yesterday for fishing wire wrapped around them. 1 had fish hook in gullet, was in vet care. Stitches and antibiotics were given, was returned to nest. Both are fine now and can lead a normal life until fledge.

Good morning, Alliance!! Just a brief update this Monday morning. We have gathered a lot of information these past few days in our quest to keep Dad Norfolk and #3 safe in THEIR Garden. We are making positive headway. We have been assured that pyrotechnics WILL NOT be used against our eagles in any way, shape or form. A huge step forward!!! More to come! EAGLE ON!!!!!

I'm heartbroken-after all she went through to get this far. So sad for her and all the people who did everything in their power to get her back flying in the wild again. Fly high and free, S2, you'll never be forgotten.

I will post pictures tomorrow, but a bunch of falconheads were downtown this morning and we saw quite the show put on by KQ's gentleman caller. I think he is serious and she kind of likes him. They flew in together toward the box, while she went inside, he was outside of it just to the north of it. He also did lots of flying while she watched from the nest box perch. We are trying to get a read on any bands - if that happens, well as Popeye said, blow me down. He is a handsome dude. Lighting made it difficult to tell if he was very white or buffish - tricky to discern. He looks very comfortable in the skies of Indy and seems to know the ins and outs of Market Tower - likes the ledges too. Good stuff and many falconheads very excited and happy.

 

 

I was talking with them on fb and they remember the Unity incident, they kept track for a while and I think they watched MK too! 

I began watching this site this yr and follow them on Twitter & FB.  That pic of that juvie with the glove is precious!

I think the care of S2 by all has been excellent -surgery, rehab, etc.  I want her release to be successful with no harm coming to her and I will keep her in my prayers. Thanks for the update, Alison!

I found three rodent bait boxes in Washington Square Park today. There could very well be more but I saw three. The park is using the Bell Protecta LP Rodent Station model. The photo of the box below is from the Bell Laboratories

I sent both of these people emails last night about the concerns that they have placed these bait boxes where Bobby and Rosie feed on rats. Please write to them expressing your concerns or there will be more deaths of these RTH's!
