I find it fascinating that Beauty's new chest feathers are lighter in color than normal

They're very pretty.  Wonder if Orion will inherit this color.  Carly said, if I remember right, that Angel also had similar coloring.

It's a beautiful morning at High Falls!

Someone was playing with their camera.

Um, can you describe the appearance of the mushrooms on that pizza?   devil

I asked WINORR on FB if anyone could give a recent update about the babies and got this today:

"PaleMale's 2 offspring are doing much better. The first one appears fully recovered and unscathed by the ordeal . The second one has still not completely regained all its abilities and acts neurologic ,slightly unbalanced occassionally. It hasn't returned to the sharp attentive bird its sibling is but we are hopeful in time it may. A plan or time for release has not been determined yet as it will take much consideration as to where and when they are fully capable if not retruned to their family for necessary training for the best chance for survival."

  Not from article.

We observed a pair of Cryptic Forest-Falcons calling at each other yesterday morning. The birds came close to one another and then copulated for some 2 seconds. Perhaps is the first time anyone records this rare-to-see event. This species has been described in 2002 and very little is known about its habits. We got marginally acceptable photographs, but good enough for the record. A tapir bathing in the river, finding another pair of Cryptic Forest-Falcons, and seeing an adult Ornate Hawk-Eagle soaring from one of the canopy towers at Cristalino Jungle Lodge where today's highlights.

Beautiful bird!

Maybe some clever person with connections could cause Orville replicas to be made, and we could donate to Falconcam and get a souvenir Orville  Cool

I like that idea...I still have my "bricks for chicks" brick from the stacks right above my computer!

I do too, Ei, plus I saved 4 M&M's!

Those M&M's will never be eaten! They're in my M&K standoff mug right next to the ornament tree with all my Rochester Falcon Christmas ornaments!

My sweet tooth got the best of me.  paperbag
