I saw something today I've never seen in my decade or so of falcon watching.  D'arcy was perched on one of the building signs and under her on the glass I saw this massive lump of a dark bird and it was hunched over like it was eating something..and I thought what the heck is that???.  Then Lucky came around the tower and startled it and it flew up and it was Turkey Vulture eating food from their cache right under her nose.   Lucky chased it off but he/she came back a few minutes later with a friend and when I left to go back inside they were doing donuts around the building.

#4 hatch for Cadence at around 12noon today, according to posts!

Well maybe not, babies alone and uncovered for 10 minutes now.  Someone jsut took off like a rocket amidst a flurry of feathers.  Male came in briefly and didn't stay and then he took off.  Cadence back now ..still no food.  I've seen this male come in twice now with no food...I know he's cute and he likes to brood but I was hoping he'd step up this year.  This morning she had to yell at him to bring food.

He was kind of a slouch last year but sure loved sitting on eggs.  Cadence is tough and, hopefully, she gets after him to provide better.

It’s sad to hear she’s lost her site.  I loved watching her “chatterâ€�!  Even though you couldn’t hear her on cam, you could see how vocal she is.  I’m really glad you got to see her today, she’s ok and, hopefully, she stays away and keeps herself safe.  Thanks for being Aria’s watcher and keeping us posted.

Feeding time

It was so funny to watch!  DC flipped the eyas on its back while he was trying to get out of Beauty’s way as she came in with food.  She clucked to the eyases to feed and baby couldn’t right itself so she fed the bigger one and DC. Wee one finally uprighted itself after DC stepped on its wing to fly out but it never got a bite of food..Beauty had flown away with it by this time.

I live quite close to Allentown and saw the story yesterday morning. It's not easy to see the nest area from the street but believe me, I will be looking.
