From the USFWS site: Picture by Pete Leary/USFWS She's Back! (December 2, 2011)On December 1, the world’s oldest Laysan albatross, a female named “Wisdom”, was sighted by a Fish and Wildlife Service biologist for the first time this breeding season nesting on Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge. Having survived the tsunami generated by Japan's earthquakes last March, Wisdom has returned along with her mate. She was observed in her normal location behind the Bravo Barracks and was proudly incubating an egg. Wisdom is at least 61 years old. She was banded as a nesting adult in the same location by Chan Robbins in December 1956. Robbins estimated that the bird was a minimum of 5 years old at the time.
The oldest albatross in the world appears to be a northern royal albatross which was located on the South Island of New Zealand and was named “Grandma.” She reached a banded age of 51.5 years and probable actual age of 61+ years.

Thanks, Lou. I see the names now. I recognize most of the names but Kathleen Rogers and Brigitte Dublin aren't familiar to me. Are they members of the Forum? Don't recall ever seeing their names or postings unless they're going by a different name on here. Anyone know them? Congratulations to all. I'm really waiting for the Falcon calendar though. Is there a chance it will be ready for Christmas orders?
That's what we hope Kris. Wonderful! Can't wait to see more pics of our Rochester Falcons-Beauty, Archer and Unity!

A little more on Cheyenne; Chad and Chris posted this on the Cleveland forum today.
Asked Laura for an update and she said that she plans to really start pushing him in January and will aim for a late Feb/early March release. Hoping for good things for Cheyenne!
I hope Cheyenne will make a full recovery and be releasable, but since he isn't quite ready, I'm glad that he will staying at the Medina Raptor Center for the winter.
Thanks Alison- I also hope he will be OK for release. I read that GG has found a new mate since Cheyenne's injury. Life does go on and I'll always wonder whatever happened to our Seneca.
