End of day 3 and still no second egg for Chaos and Stormin.  Think that new female spotted at the King nest site might be a factor but without the cam there working we can't tell what's going on.  

That’s too bad.  I was really hoping for Stormin to finally have a family this year.

Just caught her standing then repositioning onto eggs.  Hard to see any eggs because the scrape is low but she definitely lowered then rocked back and forth like they do when positioning onto eggs.

No one is ever here when I check.  I do see her there the odd time but no male ever for the last month and no eggs or she'd be incubating by now.

Four eggs confirmed, Allen came in and she wouldn't leave.  She stood in doorway a bit but is now back on eggs.  I got some photos of the eggs!

Found this on BCAW..3 eggs!

First there were signs that one chick had hatched:



Then a second chick hatched:







There was also good news this year that one of the chicks from 2015 has been identified as having a nest and a mate of her own at Sint-Maartenstoren in Kortrijk. She is banded S2, a band number which brings back memories from elsewhere. So now Eva and Han will be grandparents.

The unbanded girl laid it Alison but she is/was in the middle of battling a female with two bands.  That new female entered the nest box last night but this morning the unbanded showed up ready to defend again.  She just laid that egg yesterday morning in between the fighting.  From checking the web site over in NL, looks like she's holding her own for today at least and looked calm this evening (their time).

Let’s hope things settle down soon.
