Posted June 23rd on CMNH Forum:

Here's the latest update on Cheyenne in an e-mail to us from Laura: "Cheyenne is in a small flight cage. He is not moving but we experienced this with Ranger too. I have my fingers crossed but his wing is outward and to me still looks like a luxation even though Dr. Lindstrom said no.

Great video, Paul!
6003  Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Offspring / Re: Rhea Mae and Tiago's Webcam - Toronto - Canadian Peregrine Foundation on: 23-Jun-11, 11:20:32 PM
Today was one of several of heavy rainstorms, mist and no untoward activities.  Everytime the rain started up, Cinnamon and Kate would suddenly get active, flapping their wings, moving around, giving us anxious moments that they would start out in the downpour.  Fortunately, they didn't!  Sunshine also gave us a few minutes of breath-holding, when she landed on top of the "C" of the Sheraton Centre sign, at the beginning of one heaviest downpours.  She was having trouble holding her balance, her wings were going like mad and she as slipping down the front of the "C"...  It was really frightening, for her, I'm sure, but for Zoe and I on the ground, too!!  Fortunately, she finally got a grip on something, held on and after the rain abated, gave several massive shakes, sending water flying and finally took to the air, with confidence!

The most extraordinary two episodes I witnessed today were of Sunshine learning the finer points of receiving food from her dad, Tiago, in mid flight!!  I was fortunate, both times, to be up on the 43rd floor, watching it all unfold right in front of me.  The first one was a bit sloppy, but totally successful...until Sunshine tried to land, with this small bird in her talons.  To put it nicely, she skidded somewhat, but finally came to a halt and then took the food out of my sight.  But the second try was magnificent!!!  Sunshine chased up on Tiago, squawking at her amazing volume, turned right upside down as she reached her dad, reached up and deliberately took the Starling from him.  All coolly calculated, very precise!!  I'm sure my mouth was hanging open, as I saw the whole thing unfold!!  Then she righted herself and landed on a fairly wide ledge, doing so deliberately and then looked around as if to say, "Hey, I'm soooo cool!!"!!  The funny thing was her handling of the prey.  Instead of plucking it, she dragged it around a bit and then eviscerated it, pulling out bits and pieces, enjoying them immensely!!  Oh well, she'll get the hang of that skill, too, and it was so great to see her enjoying her reward!!

What great experiences you are having, Anne, and thanks for sharing them with us!

I'm sure we'll be seeing lots more, as there was quite an array of photographers at the event.

Thanks for posting this great album of Harley's banding day,  Kat!   clap

Everytime I see this pose I think of the great movie line...

"Nobody puts Baby in the corner!"  silly

"Dirty Dancing"!  One of my all time favorites!

We were sitting on our back deck last night and it wasn't a fawn but we saw 2 deer grazing in the field next to our house then they came onto our lawn.  They stood there staring at us for a few minutes until our company got up to leave and that was their cue to run off!

Our five chicks are now officially Mae, Amelia, Rosa, Sally and Melba!
Congratulations to our 2011 falcon-naming contest winner, Becky Mae! Her suggestion was "Five famous women that made a difference in our world today".

Dr. Mae Jemison, Amelia Earhardt, Rosa Parks, Sally Ride, and Melba Pattilo.   thumbsup

Our five females are looking a little less white and a lot darker in their adolescent feathers! It's amazing how quickly they grow!

Unless I missed it, not once did Archer or Beauty come to the nest today! I have nothing to do!  Sad
I have checked a few times, and thought it odd that you hadn't posted any pictures of either of them.   But when ever I checked the camera there was no sign of anyone.  They are waiting for MAK to come downtown.  :-)
I've been so busy watching Harlie....

I've looked for her several times today on here but nothing.  Archer's too busy echupping at KP.  Sad

Has anyone seen Harlie ?  I just glanced at cam..I know she is probably off to side...just wondering....

She's off camera again, but all OK. I think she had enough cameras in her face yesterday...she's ducking the paparazzi for awhile!

Good to know!  Thanks, Kat!

The banding went very smoothly. Quest wasn't all that aggressive.  Kendal was absent until the very end. I'll let others post the details.

Here is a Toronto CityNews video of the event: http://www.citytv.com/toronto/citynews/videos/138388

What am I doing wrong?  Clicking on link, and seeing nothing except some headlines but not about banding.

Closest is a "councillors tweet about hot chicks"....but not the right kind of chicks I don't think.  LOL

It worked for me Margaret. Not sure why it doesn't for you!

It showed me the same thing it did you, Margaret.

All four babies have hatched and Mom is feeding them. They look wonderful. Does anyone know if there are any falcon watchers in Elk River?
