rochfalconflyer (Lisa McK): Linn's final baby is a female named Rhiannon. She is a big girl like her momma and grandma.. Grissom and Rhiannon were the 2 names I submitted in 2004 when asked to name a Kodak falcon. M&K didn't have a daughter named Rhiannon, but now they have a granddaughter that is. Wonder who submitted that name, very unusual for it to come up twice. LOVE it though. Not your common name, IOW's I've seen the name before but have no idea how it's pronounced.

Look at Harlequin peeking out from under Quest! Quest's a really good mom! She's not giving the "fearsome foursome" any good views of Harlequin. Kendal's been very scarce lately. Rarely seen on cam. But is Kendal bringing food to Quest somewhere the camera doesn't pick up? I've been wondering if Quest is having to do all the hunting as sometimes she lives Harlie for quite a bit. When is the last time Kendal was seen on cam? I've seen him deliver food a couple times but there could be food exchanges too that we don't see. There's also ledges that he could be sitting on that are off camera. Maybe the 6 gals will see him when they're visiting the site and will let us know.

Beauty sporting a new feather "fascinator" LOL, she was preening her back and when she surfaced....there it was! Sorry, but is B looking a little on the slimmer side? I find that unusual given that prey pickins' would be more abundant in these warmer months than in the frigid months that we followed her and she appeared to me plumper chasing the prey with Mr. T? Anyone? From watching them in past summers, I've seen when it's very hot, they can make themselves real slim like that. Probably cooler?

Good news, bad news.
Our fourth bird, Girl, yes, girl, fledged today between 9 and 11:30 am. I called the building at 1 and she could not be found in the scrape. She was there up until 8:45 am when Dennis and Francois left. Then my other friend who was watching the cam saw her take w very big wing flap and she was gone. She was banded much later than the others.
There has been no signal from Hope after she fledged. Dennis and Francois reported that she did make it over the FDR and the adults were circling behind the heliport, but chances are she went into the river. We are holding out hope for Hope that she made it up to one of the buildings and has just been under an eave or overhang.
Oh, it doesn't sound good about Hope with no signal coming in, does it?

http://www.buffalonews.com/city/article445401.ece Statler got banded today? Recent headlines involving unexpected animal encounters suggest that area residents and public officials are learning to take more of a live-and-let-live approach to wildlife. Whether it be a black bear roaming through town or deer jumping cemetery fences, enlightened residents and officials seem more willing to give wildlife a fighting chance for survival -- unless it's destroying personal property. They banded 2 males and a female. The new owner requested one of the males be named Dominic after his son. ( I read this all somewhere but can't find it right now.)
