Our friends at Kodak sent over a couple of pictures taken yesterday afternoon near 1PM local time, on the 18th floor balcony of the Kodak Tower.  The pictures show two adult Peregines, both about the same size, having a pretty intense-looking fight:

mbanana  I believe you're correct - sure looks like half a shell in the pic!  I was checking in there today and it looked like Hera was tending to 'something' - wish I'd have kept watching.

Four more to go!!
 clap

They've got pics posted on the CMNH Forum-that's where I saw it!

There was a photographer that photographed Quest when she was in Cape Cod by the name of Shawn P. Carey.  Here's the link to his album:

Thanks for posting these, Kris.  I don't think I've seen them before.  Maybe one of them?
Gorgeous pictures of Quest only a few months after she had been hatched.   If these were taken in August of 2008, she was only three or four  months old at the time.   Special pictures.

I thought they were beautiful and had saved the site but forgot to post them earlier.  He had contacted the DEC in 2008 when he discovered her and and Barbara Loucks forwarded the info and pics to here for posting.  I did contact him later on to see if he ever had any further sightings of her but he never did.

I am having serious doubts about hatching.  But I will be there, young birds or not.  The area is lovely and there many things to do, aka Lake Ontario and environs.  Plus the falcons will still be around.  AND the falcon watchers are the best group ever.  We are trying to build something down here, either Jersey City or Water Street.

We're still well within normal incubation time.  By my calculations hard incubation started the same day this year as last year, with hatching on day 35.  Still plenty of time before we start worrying.

Thanks for the info, Ei, and glad to have you back with us-you were missed.

Sad

Do you suppose she might be feeling some action underneath her and that's why she won't leave?  She's been there for so many hrs, you'd think she'd want a food and bathroom break!
