A reminder: Please vote for Lexy.

Thanks for posting the reminder, Annette!  I spoke with Grace Leanen yesterday (the lady who did the video about Lexie) and told her how our Forum group and others were all voting. She was thrilled to know that all of us are helping win this and was going to tell Lexie's mother. I also told her that everyone would like to see a follow-up story in the event that she wins (and it's looking really good!) and she said the bank will do a story and picture follow-up of the winner.  thumbsup

I had posted it in a horse forum I belong to, a great bunch of gals.  The head gal pinned it at the top so people would see it each day and remember to vote.  They're really keeping tabs on what % she is at.  bguitar She gets it we need a picture of her with it!!!!

Thanks so much!  We're in a really good position to win this contest but don't forget to keep on voting for the next 11 days to insure a win for Lexie!!  clap

When you get to the link, on the left it will say "who will you pay it forward to".  Under that, the third one down, "Grace Leanen for a bike for a child with cerebral palsy"-mark that and press vote at the bottom.

As a physiotherapist, I know how important such a tricycle can be for a patient.  It could really make a huge difference in her life!  The voting seems to be going well in Lexie's favour, which is great!  Thanks for including us in this chance of giving her a better future, Kris!  We all need a reminder occasionally that there are small but terribly important issues going on in this world of ours, outside of our own close circle!  I hope we will soon see a photo of her going happily on her way into a new, better future!

Best wishes,
Anne in Toronto

Thanks, Anne, for your words, Carol and all who are supporting this cause with your votes!  We're doing well but there's still 13 days left so just a reminder to keep placing your daily votes!

We released our #00/AE (Michaela) in Jersey City today.  She is flying high, strong and deftly.  We watched her for two hours.  We are hopeful she will leave the area very soon.  She showed agility as she got away from her agitated mom.  Six Pack lived up to his name and just watched and then left.  There was some communal soaring and mutual preening between mother and daughter.  Pictures are coming.

That's good news, Bonnie!!  clap

happy After a week of trying to guess what these were, I'm pretty sure we have juvenile White Crowned Sparrows-lots of them!  We can have 8-10 of them at any one time at the feeder. I was leaning towards the White Crowned but only thought of them having black stripes- not thinking of juvies.  The brown stripe is so distinctive and dark brown-a very striking bird.  We'll get the adults each year for a few days as they travel through but have never seen the juveniles before so that threw me off. Thanks to all who helped and thanks to Donna for posting the pics for me.

I’m sleeping with my phone next to the bed. We are expecting Lun Lun to go into labor anytime now. The latest hormone results show that her progesterone is declining and nearing baseline. We expect a birth when progesterone is near or at baseline levels. She is still cooperating well with ultrasound sessions. Yesterday, the fetus measured 7.9 cm in length. The heartbeat is strong and regular and the tiny toes are now visible. Lun Lun is still spending most of her time sleeping, but she has also been getting up mostly at night to eat bamboo. This year she’s been doing more nest building than in previous years. She has been shredding bamboo to add to the hay we provide in her nest box. We are eagerly awaiting this cub, as I’m sure all of you are too. Keep checking the website, because I expect there will be an announcement in the next few days. I hope it’s that Lun Lun has a healthy cub and all is well.
