New female checking out the nest box on her own.

Wonder what happened to Lil Dad and Niecey? Strange for a nest change at this time of year, isn’t it?

Just saw photos by Loza of the new pair here, the banded male 38/S and who I presume is the female that came with him - she's unbanded.  This is the first sighting of a female here since she and Niecey had a run in the other day...

I hope Niecey is safe where ever she is  Sad

I'm lifting carly's description because I can't write it any better than she did...

Pearl, daughter of Ralphie (Toronto Sheraton, son of Rhea Mae & Tiago) and Alice in Statler City, Buffalo. She was banded on May 30th, 2017 and spotted in Tommy Thompson Park this past weekend by Aileen Barclay. Isn't she gorgeous  heart

Beautiful!

Snowy day and Aria just arrived with breakfast!  gum  I was just thinking, who does she remind me of...Jack, her grandfather.  He is also an amazing hunter.

Awesome!  So glad she continues to do well!

Posted on the site an hour ago:

We've had a wonderful amount of much-needed rain recently. This has left gardens absolutely soaking wet. Of course, garden birds have not escaped the heavy rainfall.

In this rain, Lady has sat diligently on her eggs, doing her best to keep the eggs dry and warm.

Until this morning.

After heavy rain again last night, we woke up to find Lady gone and the eggs abandoned. We're not sure if this persistently heavy rain influenced her decision or if there are other reasons.

Pappa isn't around this morning either which leads us to believe that it was a deliberate decision to abandon eggs they feel are unviable.

Of course I'll only rest well when I see them both flying around again. Will keep you posted.

I hope Lady and Pappa are both safe. Very sad that the eggs have been abandoned. Sad

How sad!  Sad   I hope they’re both safe too, Alison.
