Looks like Quest has 4 babies!

Banding was today..3 females and 1 tiny male! 

Mei Xiang has been artificially inseminated after she and Tian Tian failed to mate..hopefully another Panda baby in the future!

I followed the story after it happened in 2015 and this creep needs to pay for what he did to those beautiful birds, their nests and eggs.  I hope the nest site visit happens and that the judge sees that the sentence must fit the crime! Unfortunately, as the article says, the other 2 have already settled their cases in Family Court, their records as juveniles are sealed and they now have a clean record.

Sad news on FB...

We are aware of the two dead eyass falcons at Great Spirit Bluff and are planning a recovery tomorrow, weather permitting. We believe that insects may have clogged their airways, causing them to suffocate, but we can't know for sure unless we recover the carcasses. We will also try to capture some of the insects while we are down there. We've called them black flies and buffalo gnats, but black flies come in roughly 30 species in Minnesota and it would be helpful to know what we are dealing with.

Well, anyway, however you all say it, I'm honored to have been chosen to name one this year! Thank you guys!! I hope she goes on to live a great life and has a nest like Cadence, with a cam but with no battles! As soon as you're chosen to pick a name, you automatically feel like this chosen Falcon......is your kid! My heart is pounding already and she didn't even hop out on the poop deck yet!! I'm in for some Xanax I feel!! I just became a 1st time G'ma and now I have another to worry about! But that's me, on with the day!!
  

I think we're all like that. Although my chance to name an eyas came via the Rfalconcam poll, Rosetta is still my special girl! Still hoping she's spotted someday with babies of her own!

Same here, Ei.  Even though my only chance to ever name an eyas was also through the Rfalconcam poll, I'll always think of Genesee as my special boy.

Me too.  I was one of two or three people who submitted the name Mercury to the Rfalconcam poll, and he will always be my special boy.
