When we winter in Bonita Springs, FL there is a pair we see when we go fishing and they ARE so vocal!  It makes my day when I can sit and listen and watch them.  To heck with the fishing!  Just makes my day!

wub2 These little ones are so darn cute!  Thanks for keeping us updated.  I don't get to see many of the videos while up north.  I use my cell phone as an internet tether.  BUT when we get back south I have free wi-fi and can see all that I want, bummer it is the wrong time of year for all the little ones I love to watch!   Sad

We all are so sadden with the loss of Hillary!  She was so photogenic and Chris and Chad were really "in touch" with her and Titan.  It has been really hard loosing her.  We all know how that is!  But now we learn to love McKees and hope for MANY offspring and a long life for her with the HANDSOME Titan.  Over at the Cleveland Forum we know Chris and Chad as our PF Whisperer's.  They have the soul of a Peregrine.  They get such unbelievable photos of these PF's and they share with us so generously!  They are just the best people you would ever be lucky enough to meet!

thank you SO much everyone for the wishes!  I have been keeping busy and forgot to come by here and say thank you!   Had a REALLY nice birthday!  One son and GF took me to Red Lobster YUM! On the way there one of my other sons called.  He is around the world on the George H.W. Bush Aircraft Carrier!  What a wonderful surprise to hear his voice!  LOVED IT!  Another son and wife brought over cheesecake after my stuffing late lunch!  Had 3 lady friends/neighbors yesterday for pizza and pool time!  So I guess I did spend it doing what I love to do!  EATING, TALKING, EATING, in the pool, EATING!    lol   2thumbsup

AWE thanks everyone!  I am trying to convince myself that getting OLDER is better than the alternative!  But sure is harder every year to get these creaky old bones out of bed and bouncing around all day!  laugh

But will make it a good day for sure!    wave

that is funny!  We used to have a pair running around in our neighborhood, then down to just the beautiful male for quite a few years, now none!  Sad, I miss them!  He used to sit up on top of our houses!  We would toss him food.  He was becoming fairly tame to some people.  Hope the Coyotes didn't get him!  Hope this one get back safely.

I too have lots of humming bird action here.  I have up 3 feeders and am filling (well only fill 1/2 so the solution stays fresh) them every couple of days.  If we are out on the deck at the patio table, they fly between us and the umbrella pole!  Makes you duck!!   2funny  LOVE watching them and have encouraged many neighbors on doing the same.  Wish I could attract them in Southwest Florida in the winter but no luck in our first winter there.  Hints anyone??
Thanks for sharing the pictures!

It is cool looking, it also looks about the size of a GBH.  Love these "guys"!
Wonder if we will see any in Florida this winter?  Love the reddish brown along the back of it's neck!
114  Other Nature Related Information / General Nature Discussion / Re: MAK's GBH and Goose neck on: 18-Jul-11, 08:00:42 AM
AND looks like the goose has an ankle bracelet too.  I think that one around the neck is just a "bit much"!  Love the GBH!  We had one come up while we were fishing in Florida and he wanted our left over bait fish so we tossed it to him and he gulped it right down!

I will be marking my day "quietly" as I say lots of thank you's and prayers for all those who have made this Country what it is today and all those out there serving in our Military near and far for what they ARE doing and sacrificing so that we all can be Free and our country remain safe!  I have a son in the United States Navy serving overseas 2 months into a 7+ month deployment!  Miss him and love him very much and hunger for emails from him when he can.  My heart really goes out to those serving in Afghanistan where they have so little comforts of home and live in such danger every day!  God Bless all of our Military past and present!
bravo  bravo  notworthy  Stay safe and hurry home to all your loved ones waiting at home for you!

Ei I too am so sorry to hear about your Mom!  It is so hard.  My thoughts and prayers are going out to you and your family!  Loosing a parent is so hard! I have been through that too recently and it is an ache that will take a while to ease up in your heart.  But she is now your special guardian angel.  Hugs from me to you.

I don't think there has been any news of Ranger.  Hope all is well with him!  The banding of the TT group is sometime this morning so there will be pictures and news posted as it happens.  clap
