Cool video!  I have seen that behavior and usually they are just resting and guarding "their" feeder, at least around here.  Had one just hang on to the perch (our feeders are just like that) and go over backwards!  A cold front had come in temps dropped a lot so when I noticed that happening, hubby went out and got him and then brought him in held him a while to warm him up then took him outside and he was able to fly off.  Sure is super cool to hold one of those tiny birds!

That is so COOL!  Love seeing how they do that!  Artist with a chainsaw!  WOW!  Could be a cool cubby for a nest down around the eagle talons!  Can't wait to see the final product!!  LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!

Here is (sort of a poor one) picture we managed to catch of one that shows up around Bonita Springs in early spring.  LOVE watching them!  Their tail allows such maneuverability and gracefully soaring!  We don't have them up north so really look forward to seeing them down there!

AW Donna I am just reading about Cali!  She was beautiful!  I am so sorry for you loosing her!  She was very lucky to have found her way to you.  I too dislike these people who just let the pets outside to breed and then let them run wild.  Not good for anyone!  That is how we were adopted by our 3 legged cat Mow, years ago.  gave her a good life til her end.  Miss her still.  You have a good heart.  Hugs from here.

Got the second egg sometime today.

It IS cool isn't it?  No commercials either!  The female has the necklace and I think this is her first year here (?).  That is the Pinellas County bike/walking trail!  It goes forever and is SUPER to ride on!  That is a golf driving range to the left of it also.  Lots of activity but they don't seem to mind.

Lucky you to be able to grab the camera and shoot!  Usually they take off when I try that!    Great pictures!  The first one got my heart strings a bit but that is life!  Glad you pare posting pics, must mean you are feeling better!
