Anything Else / Totally OT / PEPSI CHALLENGE FOR THE KENTUCKY HUGS GROUP
|
on: 14-Sep-11, 09:13:29 AM
|
Last year I asked you all to help out my local HUGS Group with votes for the Pepsi Challenge, well with all your help we WON! It has been awesome and we all thank you from the bottom of our hearts! NOW this year our sister group in Kentucky is needing votes so they too can continue to make and send HUGS and goodies to our Troops serving over seas! PLEASE can you take a few minutes daily to vote for them? I know not only the Group but all the Troops appreciate all the help, thoughts and prayers sent their way! Thank you so much!! I HATE these things! Even our dog Jake won't touch them! It seems while the slide outs were open on our camper (we were packing & getting stuff loaded for a 5 month stay in Florida) we got invaded by these stinky things! We kept finding them ALL WINTER!! This year just might pack stuff in boxes and leave it like that til we get there! Not wanting to open up the slides so they can find a way in! ERRRR! I too have started finding them in the garden! Fly away stinky bugs and don't come back! LOL! On the other hand we didn't have any lady bugs last year, any connection?

I too will spend the day in deep thoughts and prayers. America changed so much 10 years ago. I know I will NEVER be the same and will NEVER forget! I pray for those families left behind to deal with the great loss, and for those who survived and struggle to understand. God Bless of them.

Thank you Donna! I sure do miss him! It is lucky for us there has been this wonderful invention called email! Saves this Mom's sanity sometimes with him so VERY far away! My heart aches for those parents and loved ones who's Military child is "out in the field" and not available for internet. So I count my blessings daily and say so many prayers for ALL of them out there fighting to keep us ALL safe back here on the home shores.

Thank you Janet for sharing those pictures. The happenings on 9-11 were so very heart wrenching to remember and for those to live through it right in "their own back yard". I will NEVER forget that day and know my family will not either. Such a tragic day in our history. God Bless America and take comfort in the fact that it has made us more aware and maybe just a little more caring for our neighbors and surroundings. I have a son in the Navy since summer 2000,now serving on board the new George H. W. Bush aircraft carrier and I know They still fight to keep all of us as safe back here as they can. I doubt there is a day that goes by that I don't think of that day and pray for the families that have had to figure out how to go on with their lives, minus some very important loved ones with them.
I agree "WE MUST NEVER FORGET"!

OH Donna I LOVE the roses! As big as they are probably good thing you DON'T feed them! I wish I could talk hubby into letting me have some but they can be a chore to care for some times. I have a little scrub rose bush that is taking off and really doing great this year.
Carol in WV, I don't do anything with mine over the winter except to cut them all the way down. I also leave a couple seed balls to dump around the main stem, just to make sure I have more next year. I wish there was a way to send some seeds out to all you gardeners!
I guess it is some OC coming out in me to count them! Just can't help it sometimes! LOL!

I can't wait to take some seeds to Bonita Springs this year and plant them around our place. I KNOW they grow there, have seen just one place with some right in our neighborhood. It is funny the bees take a little while to find them but now in the late afternoon there are LOTS of bees forcing them open just enough to crawl into the flower! You can see them inside and hear them buzzing! Our neighbor has 200 hives so we are happy to have all these wonderful pollinators around us. They winter them in Texas. But with the drought there wonder if they will be looking elsewhere this year. I know the honey is delicious!

Very beautiful pictures! Some of the flowers I have around my yard but a lot of them not! It makes one smile to see such beauty and around here the honey bees are so happy! Love the veggies too, our garden is on it's way to being done. Not ready to give up the fresh tomatoes yet! thanks for taking the time to share those pictures with all of us!
