Today around 10:45 Larry O one of our local watchers will be rappelling down the 21-stories of the First Federal Bldg (OCSR). He is looking forward to it.

Hope this works, does this bird have a green band on it's right leg?

No, it's a camera artifact.

Morning Campgee! Thanks for the early morning tweets.  If you zoom in, you will notice that the green coloration that looks like a band is in the wrong location. That camera effect happens to all of us in the field too when we take photographs. That's why we hesitate to say color until we are absolutely sure.

MAK positively confirmed this morning that this tiercel is unbanded.

There's another Holcim in Buffalo ...grain elevators near the lake shore. There have been reports of pefas near there for a while including Juliet (I think) from Syracuse

Ei, you got the "J" initial right...it was Jean, b/g 98/V from Syracuse 2008. Actually, Holcim in Buffalo has a nestbox, but it was only investigated by peregrines once or twice, but no egg laying residents. Jean and mate were using the Cargill grain elevator. Last year I had 2 there, but not working in Buffalo, I have slacked on my watch duties there.

Sage - are you saying that a pair of falcons have found the nestbox at Buffalo Holcim?

Stunt crash gone wrong - Found this video from Thursday's 5/2 crash. I believe same one rfalconcam caught on cam.

Amazing Spiderman 2 Stunt Crash Gone Wrong

Note in the aftermath photo, the bench and concrete planter are smashed to bits. The two cars that were crashed have white license plates. Since the cars for the movie all have yellow plates, wonder if these two cars are actual Rochester vehicles. Powers Building was lucky.

I wonder about Pigott too. Dot.ca seemed to prefer her and P/DC matings took place while he was still trying to evict Beauty, so it's odd that Pigott apparently has no eggs yet.  I don't remember her laying any last year, either.

Dot in PA

Hi Dot! I wish we could say if she has eggs or not, but no one knows nor has access to the nest site. Because this site is private property & not protected from human intrusion, we would not want to jeopardize the safety of the falcons by speculating either.
